Staff Accountant Job Posting Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) Location: Albany, NY Department: Finance Reports To: Deputy Comptroller FLSA Status: Exempt Join CDTA's Finance Team The Capital District Transportation Authority (CDTA) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent accounting graduate or early-career professional looking to build a strong foundation in governmental and public transportation accounting while contributing to an organization that provides essential transportation services throughout New York's Capital Region. Key Responsibilities Prepare and record journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts.

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes. Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subsidiary ledgers. Process invoices, monitor receivables, and resolve discrepancies.

Prepare financial reports, analyses, and audit documentation. Support compliance with accounting policies and regulations. Collaborate with departments and provide excellent customer service.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Internship or relevant accounting experience preferred. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
