Job Description:

JOBSUMMARY:

The Department of Theatre at SVSU seeks a part-time instructor for winter semester 2027 to teach a 3-credit junior-level course in Costume and Make-Up Design (THEA 370). The expectation is for in-person, on-campus teaching and the ability to teach and mentor a broad spectrum of undergraduate students. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 pm - 2:20 pm.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Theatre or closely related field
  • Experience in Costume Design and Make-Up Design
  • Experience and ability to positively interact with all members of the campus community.
  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College-level teaching experience

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duties are generally performed inside and not exposed to adverse conditions.

  • Scheduled weekly hours vary depending on class contract load. Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis.
