The Associate Technical Designer, Accessories will support the Accessories Technical Design team throughout all stages of the product development lifecycle, from concept through production. This role partners closely with Technical Design, Design, Product Development, Merchandising, and Production to ensure accessories meet SKIMS' standards for quality, construction, functionality, and consistency. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced product development environment. Our accessories category includes hard-goods, soft-goods, shoes and a range of product categorically. 
  • Support the Technical Design team in maintaining SKIMS' standards for fit, construction, quality, and functionality across all accessories.
  • Assist with reviewing development samples and prototypes, measuring products against specifications, and documenting construction and quality feedback.
  • Prepare and update technical comments, specifications, measurement charts, and sample evaluations for vendor communication.
  • Partner with Design, Product Development, and Production to help resolve construction, material, and manufacturing issues throughout development.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, sample records, and development tracking reports.
  • Assist with organizing and preparing samples for fittings, product reviews, and milestone meetings.
  • Help monitor development calendars and sample status to ensure key deadlines are met.
  • Communicate with cross-functional partners and vendors regarding technical updates and sample revisions.
  • Support wear testing and product evaluations when applicable to ensure functionality and performance standards are achieved.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Work in a hybrid environment, collaborating in-office for product development meetings, sample reviews, fittings, and milestone approvals as business needs require.
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Product Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years of experience in Technical Design, Product Development, or a related apparel or accessories role. Internship experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of accessory construction, materials, hardware, and manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator is preferred.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and a collaborative team-first mindset.
