Position: Undersea Warfare Development Center (UWDC) Tactical Analysis Group (TAG) Combat Systems Representative

Nature of Role: Serve the UWDC TAG Combat Systems Representative, providing subject matter expertise in submarine combat systems employment, tactical development, payload employment, Target Motion Analysis (TMA), and tactical data link integration. Support fleet modernization, doctrine development, tactical guidance, and combat system development efforts across UWDC, NUWCDIVNPT, STRG and SWFTS Transformation stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

include but are not limited to:

  • Provide expertise in combat systems employment, solution development, payload employment and heavyweight torpedo operations.
  • Support development, testing and employment of TMA algorithms and Payload Control Systems (PCS).
  • Advise on third-party targeting, cuing and tactical data link integration.
  • Support technical and programmatic discussions related to combat systems, torpedo and missile systems, TMA algorithms and tactical data links.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate operator perspectives into SWFTS Transformation efforts, including architecture, cybersecurity and DevSecOps initiatives.
  • Provide operational insight into combat system design, performance and limitations to inform tactical guidance, training recommendations and system improvements.
  • Represent the TAG in forums, exercises and technical engagements.
  • Server as a primary author, contributor or reviewers for tactical doctrine and fleet publications.
  • Support the Submarine Learning Center Modernization Training Support Team (MTST) in delivery of new content and employment guidance.

Requirements:

  • Submarine combat systems and tactical employment experience.
  • Knowledge in TMA, torpedo employment and tactical data links
  • Experience supporting fleet modernization, tactical development and system testing
  • Strong technical writing, briefing and coordination skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across operational, technical and acquisition communities.
  • Department of Defense Secret security clearance or higher is required at the time of hire.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
