About the Role
Venture Home is seeking a motivated and organized Permitting Department Intern to join our growing team in Stamford, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys communicating with people, is comfortable using technology, and wants to gain hands-on experience in the construction and permitting process.
As a Permitting Intern, you'll play an important role in helping projects move forward by coordinating with local building departments, tracking permit applications, and ensuring information is communicated accurately and efficiently.
Responsibilities
  • Communicate regularly with municipal building departments by phone and email to obtain permit updates and information.
  • Monitor permit applications through various online municipal portals.
  • Track permit statuses and maintain accurate, organized records.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to relay updates and next steps.
  • Follow up on outstanding applications and requests in a timely manner.
  • Assist with administrative tasks related to permitting and project coordination.
  • Learn and navigate different municipal processes and software platforms.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who is:
  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and willing to make frequent outbound calls throughout the day.
  • Tech-savvy and able to learn new software systems and online portals quickly.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Confident communicating information clearly and professionally.
  • Proactive, dependable, and eager to solve problems.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (preferred).
