Job description

At Two Six Technologies, we build, deploy, and implement innovative products that solve the world's most complex challenges today. Through unrivaled collaboration and unwavering trust, we push the boundaries of what's possible to empower our team and support our customers in building a safer global future.
Overview of Opportunity
Two Six Technologies is actively seeking a Lead Software Reverse Engineer to join our Trusted Electronics & Effects team. The team comprises highly skilled individuals passionate about low-level programming, firmware analysis, and vulnerability research. The team is growing and looking for someone with a strong C/C++ and assembly background who understands how to reverse-engineer hardware and software across various architectures to detect zero-day vulnerabilities.
What you will do
  • Lead the planning and execution of technical research tasks, providing direction to team members on task prioritization and schedule management to meet mission-critical objectives.
  • Utilize exemplar techniques to reverse engineer wireless and embedded systems, identifying deep-seated vulnerabilities and exercising sound judgment to assess their security impact.
  • Develop organized and maintainable proof-of-concept exploits while breaking down complex deliverables into manageable technical milestones for the research team.
  • Operate with significant autonomy to analyze firmware, software protections, and wireless protocols, often exploring new principles where limited references exist.
  • Serve as a technical lead in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with CNO developers and hardware engineers.

What you will need (basic qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or a related field with typically 7+ years of experience in a similar technical role.
  • Extensive experience with programming and scripting languages including C/C++, Python, and Assembly within Linux command-line environments.
  • Proven expertise in reverse engineering and vulnerability research using industry-standard tools such as IDA Pro, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra.
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of engineers or researchers, including the ability to provide technical direction and manage project schedules.
  • Technical proficiency in firmware analysis (ARM, MIPS, PowerPC, RTOS), firmware rehosting (QEMU), or advanced exploit development.
  • Experience reverse engineering network communication protocols using Wireshark, tcpdump, or other hardware-level tools.

Nice to have (preferred)
  • Experience scripting with the Binary Ninja API or Ghidra to automate complex reverse engineering workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging tools such as JTAG/SWD or software-defined radio (SDR) frameworks.
  • Knowledge of cryptographic security, secure boot mechanisms, or side-channel analysis.
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing, RF protocols, and wireless security standards.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols, such as Bluetooth, WiFi, 2G/3G/4G/5G, or similar.
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Security Clearance
  • Active Top Secret clearance required with eligibility/willingness to obtain a TS/SCI.
