Job Description

Are you an Engineer who wants to work on a large scale to drive significant business impact? Procter & Gamble is looking for people interested in different types of engineering: software, platform, or network to apply innovative technologies to business problems that require out of the box thinking. The work you will be doing could be anything from building data pipelines to feed Machine Learning models on petabytes of data that serve predictions globally, to building out consumer facing Internet of Things (IoT) Platforms, to building serverless applications to drive business needs from HR to Information Security. Regardless of the team, as a P&G IT Engineer you are someone who solves business problems using technology.

You are primarily a problem solver, comfortable writing code, debugging, and working hands-on. You can independently identify problems and their solutions. You are interested in continuously learning and developing your own breadth and depth of technical knowledge and its application. You have a solid foundation in Computer Science fundamentals. You take pride in the quality of solutions that you build and strive to make everything automated, testable, and scalable. You work collaboratively with others on your team and across different teams, are interested learning from others, and have a desire to share your knowledge with the broader internal engineering community.

Example Responsibilities by Role Type:

  • Software Engineering: Translate system requirements and user stories into scalable, maintainable application designs and high-quality code. Develop, test, and validate solutions to ensure functionality, reliability, and performance. Implement and support code throughout the software development lifecycle, leveraging CI/CD tools for efficient integration and deployment. Collaborate closely with product, operations, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with dependent systems and services. Contribute to application architecture and technical design decisions as appropriate. Stay current with emerging software development practices, technologies, security standards, and vulnerability management.

  • Network Engineering: Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure solutions that support business objectives. Lead technology lifecycle planning, define technical requirements, validate new capabilities, and partner with suppliers to deliver effective solutions. Serve as an escalation point for critical network issues and play a key role in strategic projects, collaborating with operations teams and IT stakeholders to ensure reliable service and successful outcomes.

  • Platform Engineering: Manage cloud platforms using configuration management to deliver secure, scalable, and automated solutions. Drive platform standards, resolve cloud and security incidents, and continuously improve engineering maturity across cloud services. Lead innovation through proof-of-concept initiatives, evaluate third-party cloud solutions, collaborate with service providers and product teams, and contribute to the Cloud Community of Practice to promote knowledge sharing, reusable code, and consistent standards across P&G.

As an intern, you will experience a subset of the above responsibilities

Job Qualifications

  • You must be available during the summer of 2027 for a 12 week internship from mid/late May through early August.

  • In process of obtaining a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical/IT field.

  • Strong problem-solving skills paired with experience in programming, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C++, Go, etc. (Experience in a specific language is not required, will be expected to learn new languages).

  • Strong understanding of network hardware and infrastructure such as routers, hubs, servers, VPNs, and switches.

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to teammates and non-technical colleagues.

Preferred:

  • A history of solving hard problems with creative solutions.

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Understand CI/CD and DevSecOps philosophies.
