Job description

Division: National Programs

Department: Youth Empowerment

Reports to: Adamah on Campus California Coordinator, Marissa Fink

Status: Part time (5-8 hours/week)

Compensation: $2,000 stipend, received in two, $1,000 payments

Dates: September 1, 2026 – December 15, 2026 (15 weeks) with possibility to extend

Location: Hybrid / Los Angeles

Adamah’s Youth Empowerment Department works to integrate the following eight strategic modalities in all of our programs and initiatives: Jewish Wisdom & Nature Connection; Thought Leadership; Organizing, Activism, and Advocacy; Institutional Decarbonization; Addressing Climate Anxiety; Regenerative Agriculture & Nature-Based Solutions; Movement Building through the Arts; Green Business & Climate Tech.  

Job Summary 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Attend weekly check-ins with supervisor, relevant Adamah LA Hub meetings, and other meetings as required.
  • Serve as a student voice and helpful perspective for Adamah LA and Adamah on Campus CA staff for innovative programming and ideas.
  • Provide support and advice to students applying for minigrants of up to $500 to run EcoShabbat dinners, zerowaste workshops, garden workdays, or climatejustice events.
  • Assist with outreach and promotion for Eco Shabbat in a Box and Tu B’Shvat in a Box in Los Angeles/SoCal.
  • Support the Los Angeles Immersive Day Retreat in November 2026
    • Work closely with supervisor on all logistics, including student travel coordination, guest speaker communications, service project, dietary needs, schedule planning, etc.
    • Liaise with student leaders on program plans and needs
    • Attend the Immersive Day Retreat and serve as a facilitator and peer leader
  • Consult on program content and possibly travel to support staff-led programs across active and emerging LA campuses.
  • Assist in outreach, recruitment, and engagement to help grow participation across five LA Adamah Campus Chapters.
  • Other duties/tasks as assigned.

 

Skills

The ideal candidate for the Adamah on Campus LA Intern position will possess the following skills and experiences:

  • Strong background in Jewish student / communal engagement
  • Experience in data tracking and analysis, comfort using Microsoft suite
  • Familiarity with environmental language, initiatives, etc.
  • Strong organizational and time management and project management skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Able to adapt to changing situations 
  • Comfortable working virtually
  • Preference will be given to current Adamah on Campus chapter leaders, but it is not required
