Overview of the Program
Bettendorf's Business Development Internship Program offers hands-on experience in project management by learning how to quote, plan, budget, and document all aspects of a project. Interns will collaborate with operational leadership to ensure project goals are clearly communicated and deadlines are met. This role offers exposure to real-world production environments and the opportunity to develop key skills in planning and execution. This position requires participation in our Immersion Day at our Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses.
What You'll Work On
  • Assist Business Development/Application Engineering team to determine solution, and quote the necessary equipment & services to execute the project;
  • Learn to review bill of materials, and other project documents to accurately estimate costs;
  • Participate in proposal presentations and customer follow-ups;
  • Learn how to effectively establish and maintain relationships with Customers and outside vendors;
  • Learn how to kickoff active projects and efficiently communicate project scope and objectives to the project team
  • Learn how to perform risk management to minimize project risks;
  • Learn how to manage changes to the scope and project costs using appropriate verification techniques;
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility;
  • Assist in ensuring resource availability and allocation;
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications
  • Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering business, or related automation/technology degrees
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Aptitude to uphold company values while interacting with clients, vendors and / or co-workers;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking; and
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
