Job description

This position is primarily for educational or religious purposes and should be used for providing valuable educational experiences for the Intern. It is to give the Intern an opportunity to see how principles and practices learned in their educational institutions are applied in actual work setting. Under general supervision, the Intern performs work as assigned by the department.

Paid Interns are qualified while enrolled in an educational institution and for one year following graduation. They must sign a Paid Internship Engagement Letter.

  • Currently enrolled in an educational institution or graduated within the past year.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to meet deadlines and work collaboratively in a team setting.

  • Good communication skills and willingness to take direction.

  • A solid understanding of educational principles and practices.

  • Curriculum Development: Assist in designing, writing, and refining lesson plans and educational resources tailored for diverse age groups and learning styles.

  • Research: Conduct research on best practices in after-school programming and educational strategies to inform curriculum development.

  • Content Creation: Help produce engaging instructional materials, including workbooks, presentations, and multimedia resources.

  • Program Support: Collaborate with program staff to implement curriculum activities, preparing materials, and organizing learning environments.

  • Feedback Collection: Assist in gathering feedback from students and instructors to evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum and suggest improvements.

  • Documentation: Maintain organized records of curriculum materials and development processes.

  • Meetings and Training: Attend regular team meetings and participate in training sessions as needed.

  • Internship Overview: This paid internship is designed for educational purposes, providing valuable experiences that bridge academic principles with real-world applications. The intern will work under general supervision, receiving assignments from the department and support from the supervising staff. Regular reviews will be conducted to ensure alignment with goals and expectations.

Responsibilities may vary by assignment depending on department and need. The Intern receives assignments from supervising staff. The Manager reviews the Intern's work occasionally. The supervisor reviews each assignment as it is completed. The Intern is expected to meet rigid and challenging deadlines, work in harmony with other people, take direction on each assignment, and give full attention to detail. Independence in working, tact, and diplomacy are required. Sound judgment of Church doctrine, history, organization, policy and protocol are also expected.
