Job description

Sleep Country Canada is looking for a Technical Lead, Digital Platforms to play a critical role in end-to-end technical ownership of digital systems, ensuring they are reliable, scalable, and aligned with business and architectural goals. This role provides technical leadership across initiatives, drives standardization and efficiency through modern development practices, and partners with cross-functional teams to deliver integrated, high-performing solutions that support strong data insights and an enhanced customer experience.

In this current open role you will:

  • Own end-to-end technical design and architecture for digital platforms, including eCommerce, frontend, and integration layers.     
  • Define and oversee integration design between digital platforms and backend systems (APIs, order systems, inventory, payment services).
  • Ensure digital platforms are scalable, stable, and aligned with technical standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical direction and guidance to digital development teams and external vendors.
  • Validate technical feasibility, identify risks, and define mitigation strategies during planning and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Managers and Product Owners to align technical design with delivery timelines and business requirements.
  • Evaluate and introduce modern development practices and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to improve platform capability, delivery efficiency, and customer experience 

The Qualifications and experience we like to see:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
  • 6 -8 years experience in software engineering, digital platform development, or technical leadership roles. 
  • Strong experience with digital platforms (eCommerce systems such as BigCommerce, Shopify or similar) 
  • Experience designing and supporting API-driven integrations 
  • Understanding of frontend and backend application architecture 
  • Experience with web technologies (e.g., JavaScript frameworks, REST APIs) 
  • Experience working with cloud platforms (Azure, GCP, or similar) 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in production environments 
  • Ability to guide and influence development teams without direct authority 
  • Experience working with external vendors and delivery partners 
  • Strong communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders 
  • Experience working in complex, multi-system environments
  • The knowledge of English is required for this specific position as the incumbent will interact on a consistent and regular basis with English-speaking stakeholders located outside of Quebec.

Additional Information

This is a current open position.  The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $140,000 annually.  Actual salary for the role may vary depending on work location of the successful candidate and other factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, working conditions and the local labor market.
