Video and Audio Editing Internships: NYC - Fall 2026

Overview of the internships
We have multiple Video and Audio Editing internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will beconsidered formultiple internship opportunities within this general area.These internships willbe located inthe NYC area.The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regularcadencebased on the internmanager'sin office schedule.

CNN Audio Editorial Intern
CNN Image+Sound Editing intern
CNN Podcast Operations and Marketing Intern
CNN Podcasts Editorial Intern
Your Role Accountabilities
The intern will take direction from the audio unit's Producers and Senior Producers to shadow and develop and produce podcast episodes.
Work closely with producers and hosts to develop ideas for episodes, including topics and guests.
Edit podcast episodes and news briefs in Descript.
Collaborate with hosts and producers on episode outlines and draft scripts.
Fact-check scripts and ensure all episodes meet the content, quality, journalistic and legal standards of CNN.
Support social promotion, including by identifying memorable audio bites and drafting social media language for episodes you produce.
Pitch ideas for future episodes and shows.
News production editing
Complex and creative graphic creation
Stylized program elements (show opens, elements and teases)
Documentary and other long form editing
Partner collaboration on scripting, story development, producing and fact-checking
Producing and creating visual elements (video and graphical)
Distinctive storytelling
Metadata requirements
Qualifications & Experience
Essentials needed for the positions that are similar across the above roles (these do not all have to apply to every single role)
Strong passion for journalism and current events with a keen interest in news production and reporting, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Detail-oriented, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure, collaborative environment.
Proficiency in conducting online research and using news-related software/tools.
Availability to work flexible hours in-person to accommodate the show's production schedule.
Must be a rising Junior or Senior(18 years or older)
Must be actively enrolled in anaccredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollmentrequired)
Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)A transcriptwill berequiredto verify your GPA if an offer is extended.

What you can expect to take away from the semester:
In compliance with local law, we aredisclosingcompensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD forundergradinterns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
