Interns typically assist with marine biology, ecology, or environmental monitoring projects, working under the supervision of experienced scientific divers. The internship is designed to develop both diving proficiency and research skills, making it ideal for students or recent graduates interested in marine science careers. Participants often gain certifications, learn about dive safety, and contribute to ongoing scientific studies. These internships are valuable for networking and building a foundation for future work in marine research or conservation.

Job description

AWS Experience Analytics (EXA) is seeking a Technical Program Manager to lead delivery of the team's core data product portfolio. EXA exists to understand how customers experience AWS - and to turn that understanding into products and intelligence that teams across AWS can use. As AWS customers shift from traditional console-based building toward AI-augmented, agent-primary, and fully autonomous workflows, the way we measure, segment, and understand customers must fundamentally change. EXA is building the data products that make that possible.
You will own the delivery strategy and cross-goal coordination for three foundational data products: a unified customer lifecycle data platform, an AWS-wide customer experience metrics framework, and a customer segmentation framework. These products provide the semantic layer, identity systems, measurement standards, and governed data access that enable data-informed decision making across AWS.
This is not a milestone-tracking role. You will shape how a growing, cross-functional team of engineers, applied scientists, data scientists, and researchers deliver complex data infrastructure. You will simplify processes, eliminate dependencies, negotiate priorities across teams, and create the conditions for scientists and engineers to focus on their highest-value work. You will drive the extension and expansion of these products - increasing adoption, improving data quality, and ensuring they scale as AWS's customer base and product surface evolve.
The ideal candidate has experience managing complex data platform or analytics infrastructure programs, thrives in ambiguity, can hold the full picture of a multi-workstream program while diving deep into technical details when needed, and communicates with clarity and precision to audiences ranging from engineers to Directors and VPs.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the delivery strategy and cross-goal coordination for EXA's core data product portfolio: the CLARA unified customer data platform, the AWS Experience Metrics Framework, and the AWS Customer Segmentation Framework.
- Manage the lifecycle of complex, cross-functional data product initiatives from definition through delivery - identifying dependencies, negotiating priorities, unblocking teams, and making trade-offs between short-term delivery needs and long-term platform sustainability.
- Drive the extension and expansion of core data products across AWS - increasing adoption, onboarding new consumers, improving data quality, and ensuring products scale with evolving customer and business needs.
- Partner with engineering, applied science, and data science leads to aligning technical priorities with business outcomes and ensure workstreams reinforce each other.
- Drive stakeholder alignment across EXA and partner teams, including data engineering, product, and design leaders across AWS service teams.
- Streamline process. Create predictable delivery paths that reduce coordination overhead and enable the team to move faster.
- Write effective narratives to present program status and strategic recommendations.
- Identify and mitigate program risks before they become blockers. Find paths forward in difficult situations where priorities, resources, or technical approaches are in tension.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Experience building software that interacts with data systems (databases, pipelines, APIs, or data platforms)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Experience building conversational interfaces, agent-based systems, or AI-powered tools
- Experience with front-end development (React or similar frameworks) alongside backend/infrastructure work
- Experience with Python and cloud-based data infrastructure (AWS services preferred)
- Familiarity with ML model serving, NLQ interfaces, or knowledge base architectures
- Experience working in research or analytics teams where requirements emerge from discovery rather than predefined specifications
