Business Analyst, SAP MM/PP
Allied Mineral Products is a leading manufacturer of monolithic refractories worldwide, headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. We are currently seeking a Business Analyst, SAP MM/PP. This position plays a pivotal role in bridging business operations and technology and is responsible for the functional design, configuration, testing, and support of SAP’s Materials Management (MM) and Production Planning (PP) modules. The analyst will work closely with global business units, manufacturing operations, procurement teams, and IT stakeholders to optimize supply chain and production processes through SAP S/4HANA.
This role demands a deep understanding of end-to-end business processes in manufacturing and materials management, including procurement, inventory control, production scheduling, and shop floor execution. The analyst will lead initiatives to enhance system capabilities, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver scalable solutions that align with business goals.
Duties and Responsibilities
Business Process Analysis amp; Requirements Gathering
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand operational challenges and translate them into SAP solutions.
  • Conduct workshops and interviews to gather detailed functional requirements for MM and PP processes.
  • Document business process flows, use cases, and functional specifications.
SAP Configuration amp; Solution Design
  • Configure SAP MM components including purchasing, inventory management, invoice verification, and vendor master data.
  • Configure SAP PP components such as work centers, routings, BOMs, MRP, production orders, and capacity planning.
  • Design and implement enhancements using SAP best practices and custom development where necessary.
Testing amp; Quality Assurance
  • Develop and execute unit, integration, and user acceptance test plans.
  • Validate system changes against business requirements and ensure defect resolution.
  • Support regression testing during upgrades and patch deployments.
Production Support amp; Troubleshooting
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for SAP MM/PP issues, including root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with SAP Basis and ABAP teams for technical issue resolution.
Project Management amp; Change Control
  • Lead or participate in small to medium-sized SAP projects, including rollout, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and stakeholder communications.
  • Ensure compliance with change control procedures and documentation standards.
Documentation amp; Training
  • Create and maintain functional documentation including configuration guides, process maps, and training materials.
  • Deliver training sessions and workshops for end-users and super users.
Continuous Improvement amp; Innovation
  • Stay current with SAP S/4HANA innovations, Fiori apps, and industry trends.
  • Recommend process improvements and system enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with SAP MM and PP modules in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred; ECC experience acceptable with strong functional expertise.
  • Proven ability to convert business requirements into functional designs and user stories.
  • Exposure to cross-functional IT domains such as QA, infrastructure, and enterprise architecture.
Certifications
  • SAP MM or PP certification preferred.
