What you'll do:ย

We are seeking aย Business Operations internย to join ourย Sales Performance Managementย team. This role is ideal for recent collegeย students orย graduates with a degree inย Business, Analytics,ย Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Communicationsย orย related fields, who are looking to gain practical experience inย customerย success operations and strategyย as well asย product analytics.ย ย The intern will be responsible forย supporting 2ย teams: Services and Customer Success.ย  The successful intern willย contribute toย building analytics solutions,ย responding toย ad-hoc reporting requests, andย establishingย a regular reporting and publishing cadence for the SPM team.ย ย This role will also collaborateย cross-functionally to support high-impact initiatives, streamline operational processes, and help elevate the overall customer experience.ย ย 

Key Responsibilities:ย 

  • Enablement for Forecasting Toolsย 

    • Project Reviews (Financial Issues)ย 

  • Create and Review Revenue Accuracy Reportย 

  • Biweekly updates on Leadership team callย 

  • Monthly Delivery Business Reviewย 

    • Actuals, Utilization, Project Reviews (Top Watch, Red & Yellow Projects), missing time,ย accuracyย 

  • Build and manage a regular reporting publication cadenceย 

  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather necessary information and formulateย reporting requirementsย 

  • Review and analyzeย business metrics and summarize findings and potential actions.ย 

  • Edit and publish periodic newsletters and status reportsย 

  • Renewal Forecasting:ย 

    • Assist in preparing and maintaining renewal forecasts for the leadership team.ย 

    • Own and manage the renewal master forecast file for the SPM CSM team, ensuring data accuracy and timely updates.ย 

  • Data Analysis and Reporting:ย 

    • Fulfill ad hoc data requests and queries from Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and leadership.ย 

    • Analyze trends in customer health, churn risk, and renewal performance to generate actionable insights.ย 

    • Support the creation and maintenance of dashboards and reports toย automaticallyย monitor KPIs.ย 

  • Content Management & Enablement:ย 

    • Develop a content management strategy to centralize Customer Success resources, templates, playbooks, and collateral.ย 

    • Build or help implement a platform (e.g., SharePoint,ย Workzone) that serves as a one-stop shop for team content needs.ย 

  • Customer Success Operations Support:ย 

    • Document and optimize key processes (e.g., onboarding, renewals,ย provisioning,ย escalation management).ย 

    • Support internal communications by helping craft newsletters, trainingย documentation.ย ย 

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:ย 

    • Partner with Sales Ops,ย Support,ย Marketing, and Product teams to support cross-functional initiatives that impact customer success.ย 

The Sales Performance Management (SPM) Line of Business is focused on the growth and success of the SPM portfolio. The SPM portfolio is a set of tools and processes that drive the revenue-generating and revenue-persuadingย behaviors and resources needed for organizations to meet their corporate goals.ย ย 

The SPM portfolio consists of several solutions, including SAP Incentive Management,ย SAP Territory and Quota,ย SAP Agent Performance Management, SAP Agent Connect, and others.ย ย 

The SPM business is in incubation status and does not have standard functions like Business Operations fully staffed, yet performance reporting and analytics are clearly key functions that need to be addressed. This is a great opportunity for a mature intern who is interested in using their Microsoft Office skills and data and analytics skills to jumpstart their career.ย ย ย 

What you bring:ย

Required Qualifications:ย 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related office suite of products.ย  Must be comfortable extracting data from various Cloud applications and performing basic data translation and manipulation in Excel.ย ย 

  • Experienceย inย Microsoft SharePointย to buildย functional, user-friendly sites.ย 

  • Comfortable producing graphical reporting and observations with business narrative.ย ย 

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.ย 

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.ย ย 

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently when necessary.ย 

  • Self-starter with excellent communication and organizational skills.ย 

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Previous internship or work experience.ย 

  • Pursuing a BS or BBA with upper-class status inย Business,ย Math, Finance, Accounting,ย or related backgrounds.ย ย ย 

  • Willing to work in an office environmentย 

  • Advanced MS Excel skills such asย VLOOKUP, data export, and pivot tablesย 

  • Self-starterย ย

This willย primarilyย beย anย in-office roleย with at least 3 days in office, with Tuesday and Thursday as mandatory in-office days.ย You will beย part of the Birmingham, Alabama team that includes Services, Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Sales Engineering.ย It is extremely important the candidates can operate in a team environment and are able to work both independently with minimal supervision, but also help others when theyย may have some down time in their schedule.ย ย
