Position Details:
Transcard offers an internship program in the FinTech industry. Our program is designed to provide you with meaningful projects utilized by the business. You'll see the direct impact of your contribution and get an inside perspective of your desired field while working alongside some of the best in our industry.
We continually strive to identify qualified individuals for post-graduate opportunities beyond the internship program.
This intern position will operate Monday-Friday during standard business hours. This position is a paid internship, compensation will be based on the qualifications of the applicant.
Our goal is to allow you to gain a better understanding of the day-to-day responsibilities within the Sales - Business Development department while working toward your professional goals as related to your academic coursework.

We prefer our interns to be onsite in Chattanooga, TN. We do offer remote capabilities for qualified individuals. Candidate must reside in the US. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Business Development Representative Intern will start with a one-on-one meeting with the Business Development Lead or your designated personnel to discuss the professional goal of your academic coursework to ensure you meet all academic requirements during the internship. Additionally, the internship will be supervised by our Sales - Business Development team to provide routine feedback and status updates. There will be an exit interview with the Sales - Business Development Lead and Human Resources for continual improvement of the program. The Sales - Business Development internship will provide exposure to a variety of opportunities within our Sales - Business Development department.
โ€ข Assist with identifying potential clients and prospective opportunities while promoting financial institution products and services as appropriate.
โ€ข Gain an understanding and maintain knowledge of existing and emerging financial service technologies.
โ€ข Exposure to executing outbound calls, and use networking platforms to build partnerships and expand customer base.
โ€ข Research and connect with prospective clients and industry contacts through targeted outreach, helping generate discovery meetings and increase market awareness.
โ€ข Help maintain and organize contact and prospect data (e.g., in Excel or CRM tools), tracking outreach activity and updating records to support follow-up efforts.
โ€ข Assist leadership with reviewing RFIs and RFPs, contributing edits and input to client-facing proposals and solution presentations.
โ€ข Help prepare internal and external presentations to accelerate Transcard's business development initiatives.
โ€ข Participate in client demos, business reviews, and cross-functional meetings to support business growth efforts and strengthen client relationships.
Requirements
โ€ข Ability to work remotely and independently from direct supervisor as needed.
โ€ข Must have great time management, communication, and organizational skills.
โ€ข Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
โ€ข Comfortable making outbound calls and initiating conversations with prospective clients.
โ€ข Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with a professional and confident phone and email presence.
โ€ข Detail-oriented, with the ability to accurately track and maintain prospect and client data.
โ€ข Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn about the financial services and payments industry.
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple outreach efforts and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
โ€ข Preferred: Familiarity with CRM or contact management tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
โ€ข Preferred: Interest or coursework in financial services, banking, or fintech.
Education and/or Certifications
โ€ข Completed or currently working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Communication, Business, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar.
โ€ข Preferred: Sales, Communication, Marketing.
