Job Summary
We employ students for summer and year-round opportunities to help design creative cost effective systems and equipment that keep the energy flowing to our customers in a safe and reliable manner. WEC Energy Group offers a variety of engineering opportunities for students seeking hands-on experience that are currently enrolled in a four-year degree program. Students work with experienced members of these functional teams.
Job Responsibilities
  • Processes and equipment the Interns and Co-Ops could be assigned to support:
  • Underground gas storage - methane stored at 1750 psi 4000 ft. below surface
  • Field piping, valves, and gas storage wells
  • Station piping, valves, regulators, meters, heat exchangers, and processes
  • Withdrawal process with slug catchers, tri-ethylene glycol dehydrators, reboilers and thermal oxidizers
  • Injection process with three 5000 hp natural gas powered compressors
  • CO2 Removal process
  • LNG Liquefaction process - convert methane from gas to liquid at -260 degrees F
  • LNG Vaporization process - convert liquid LNG back to a gas

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Current pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, Systems Engineering & Design, and Petroleum Engineering or closely related degree with a graduation date after July 2027.
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Internship experience
  • Mechanical Aptitude
  • Mechanical Troubleshooting experience
  • Fluid or Thermal dynamics project experience
  • AutoCAD experience

Pay Range Minimum: $23.10
Pay Range Maximum: $27.55
The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
