Job description

ENTRY-LEVEL RELIABILITY ENGINEER

Location: Columbia, South Carolina

Pay: $35–$45 per hour

Schedule: Full-Time, On-Site

We are hiring an Entry-Level Reliability Engineer to support equipment reliability and maintenance improvements at a steel manufacturing facility in Columbia, South Carolina.

This is a great opportunity for a recent engineering graduate with internship, co-op or early-career manufacturing experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Investigate mechanical equipment failures and recurring problems
  • Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Work with maintenance technicians and production teams
  • Analyze equipment downtime and maintenance data
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs
  • Assist with equipment inspections, repairs and improvement projects
  • Help improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience
  • Internship or co-op experience may count toward the experience requirement
  • Basic understanding of mechanical equipment and manufacturing systems
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Comfortable working in an industrial environment and spending time on the plant floor

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Manufacturing, maintenance or reliability internship/co-op
  • Exposure to motors, bearings, gearboxes, hydraulics, pumps or rotating equipment
  • Familiarity with root-cause analysis, preventive maintenance or CMMS systems
