Job Summary
Data centers are mission-critical environments. Joining our operations team means that you will be at the forefront of all we do, maintaining critical facilities infrastructure as part of a close-knit team delivering best-in-class service to our data center customers. This internship program is designed to build foundational skills, safety discipline, and technical curiosity for a long-term career in data center operations and facilities engineering.
Location: Chicago
Duration: 12 Weeks September-November
What You'll Learn & Experience
  • You will learn practical skills for different career paths in data centers. This includes electrical, mechanical, fiber optic, HVAC (heating/cooling), fire systems, building systems, and some customer-facing activities
  • You will learn how to use tools that will improve your technical knowledge
  • You will contribute to service delivery through fast and detailed execution of requests/ orders
  • You will develop a natural interest in how facilities/infrastructure work

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist Facility Technicians and Engineers with daily data center operations and maintenance activities
  • Support routine preventative maintenance checks and basic repairs on non-critical facility components under supervision
  • Monitor the Building Monitoring System (BMS) and assist in responding to basic alarms following standard operating procedures
  • Assist with customer installs and de-installs, including basic rack-and-stack activities, cabling support, and customer asset handling
  • Respond to and update service requests and trouble tickets following standard operating procedures

Qualifications & Requirements
  • High School Diploma or relevant technical/ vocational education
  • Interest in or exposure to HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems or maintenance
  • Willingness to work on-site in data center environment
  • Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and willingness to learn
  • Customer-focused mindset and strong teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, stooping, and manual handling (with or without accommodation)
