REGIONAL NURSE CONSULTANT (RN) - For SMHRFs (Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities)
Looking for a new career opportunity as a Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) for an organization that manages Specialized Mental Health Rehabilitation Facilities (SMHRF)? Generations Healthcare Network seeks an energetic, dynamic leader with psych nursing experience for this critical role.
The Regional Nurse Consultant (RNC) position requires regular visits to only 5 facilities (2 in Evanston and 2 on far northeast side of Chicago, 1 in Decatur, IL) is required. Salary is $130-140k - negotiable based upon experience. We are seeking someone already living in the Chicago area. There is no relocation allowance. This is NOT a hybrid or remote position.
PLEASE NOTE: THIS POSITION REQUIRES EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE AS A DIRECTOR OF NURSING IN A RESIDENTIAL PSYCHIATRIC SETTING. MUST HAVE A FEW SUCCESSFUL JOINT COMMISSION AND STATE ANNUAL SURVEYS COMPLETED. KNOWLEDGE OF ILLINOIS RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR SMHRF FACILITIES PREFERRED.
The Regional Nurse Consultant (RN) establishes, implements and evaluates goals and objectives for clinical services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total philosophy of the Organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE REGIONAL NURSE CONSULTANT (RN):
  • Assist in planning, organizing, evaluating, problem solving and maintenance of Nursing departments
  • Review all nursing-related State & Federal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with current medical & psychiatric practice
  • Aid facilities in implementing policies and procedures, data collection or evaluation of programs
  • Help determine amount of staff, in-services/training needed to care for facility residents
  • Assist facility with response to regulatory bodies (i.e., plans of correction and refutation process as needed)
  • Apprise facility of changes in clinical practices, policy and procedural or changes
  • Provide consultative services during surveys or inspections

Requirements
of the Regional Nurse Consultant (RN):
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must have psych nursing experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) with current Illinois License,
  • Must have nurse management (DON) experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of skilled nursing management, state/federal regulations and standards governing SNFs
  • Understanding of billing and EMR system to ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory body surveys
  • Minimum of five years of clinical experience, including two years in a managerial role, preferably as a DON (Director of Nursing) OR ADON
  • Must be open to travel between facilities (travel reimbursement provided when outside normal commute)
