Camellia Health & Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Infection Prevention & Control Nurse (RN/LPN) to join our clinical leadership team. As the Infection Prevention & Control Nurse, you will lead the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program, working collaboratively with nursing leadership, physicians, department managers, and frontline staff to reduce healthcare-associated infections, promote resident safety, and ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state regulations.

Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the facility's Infection Prevention and Control Program.
- Conduct infection surveillance and monitor healthcare-associated infections.
- Investigate, track, and report infectious disease trends and outbreaks.
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection control regulations.
- Educate and train employees on infection prevention practices, isolation precautions, hand hygiene, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Monitor antibiotic stewardship initiatives and collaborate with medical providers.
- Conduct infection prevention audits and quality improvement activities.
- Maintain accurate infection surveillance data and required reporting.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to improve resident outcomes and reduce infection risks.
- Serve as a clinical resource for staff regarding infection prevention best practices.
- Assist during state surveys and regulatory inspections.
Qualifications
- Current Alabama Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility, rehabilitation center, long-term care, or hospital preferred.
- Infection Prevention or Infection Control experience preferred.
- Knowledge of CDC, CMS, OSHA, and state infection prevention guidelines.
- Strong clinical assessment, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication, education, and leadership abilities.
- Experience with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office.
- Infection Preventionist certification (IP-BC or specialized long-term care infection prevention training) is preferred but not required.
