Overview
LMI is seeking a skilled RF Electrical Engineer in Bremerton, WA to support activities related to shipyard modernization as part of enterprise-wide U.S. Navy strategic modernization and improvement efforts. LMI is helping NAVSUP, NAVSEA, and the shipyards use technology to track materiel through the shipyards to address long-standing problems. The RFID Field Engineer provide on-site RFID technical expertise and support to oversee the successful operations of electronics, devices, and other system-of-systems components. Active Secret clearance preferred; only candidates eligible for a Secret level clearance will be considered (ship required).

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the workflow and workforce, giving directions and recommendations when necessary.
  • Develop strategies and plans to improve the site's efficiency, produce progress reports, and coordinate with other workers.
  • Provides on-site passive Radio Frequency Identification (pRFID) technical expertise and support to oversee the successful operations of electronics, devices, and other system-of-systems components.
  • Perform research, design, develop, or test electronic components and systems for commercial, industrial, military, or scientific use employing knowledge of electronic theory and materials properties.
  • Design electronic circuits and components for use in fields such as telecommunications or instruments and controls.
  • Oversees the efforts of installation staff and is responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.
  • Recommend and implement hardware, infrastructure, and installation configurations based on facility features and constraints.
  • Develop and analyze communications protocol requirements given dynamic bandwidth, latency, frequency, proximity, and payload requirements.
  • Support development of new wireless communications protocols to enhance logistics processes.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot systems and components, including identifying and mitigating sources of interference and noise.
  • Use RF engineering tools and techniques to optimize system performance.
  • Provide engineering support, optimization recommendations, and troubleshooting for fielded products and infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement test and qualification procedures for wireless communication and data collection systems.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Masters degree preferred. Relevant work experience will be considered as a substitute for education.
  • 10 years of Electronics or Electrical Engineer experience and field support.
  • Understands IOT, RFID, and network engineering.
  • Understands deployment considerations and facilities nuances.
  • Knowledge of RF hardware systems and testing equipment.
  • Professional and detail-oriented work ethic.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills.
  • Active Secret clearance preferred; only candidates eligible for a Secret level clearance will be considered (ship required).

Target salary range: $111,000 - $192,000
