Davidson is seeking a Sr. Communication Systems Engineer in Charleston, SC. This position is contingent on award.

Davidson is seeking a Sr. Communication Systems Engineer to support system modeling and traceability across the lifecycle of a ML-enabled C2 tool suite for VLF communications systems. This role focuses on developing and maintaining system models, with a heightened emphasis on interface definition following Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) principles, implementing the enterprise architecture, and ensuring alignment between requirements, design, and test activities. You will work closely with software, data architecture, AI/ML, RF, and Test & Evaluation engineers to ensure the system is coherent, testable, and aligned with operational requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Model recursively system structure and behavior, with emphasis on interface definition and compliance
  • Maintain full architectural traceability and support change impact analysis through use of advanced Cameo Simulation Toolkit simulations.
  • Assist with trade studies and design reviews
  • Develop architecture in a recursive and modular fashion that enables detailed integration co-simulating with the current software and data architectures with the ability to fit into a later enterprise architecture in a modular format.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field
  • 6+ years of systems engineering experience with at least 4 in communications systems
  • Significant experience with MBSE; specifically using SysML in Cameo/MagicDraw
  • Experience verifying architecture with Cameo Simulation Toolkit
  • Experience presenting modeling diagrams to non-modeling practitioners
  • Secret Clearance with ability to procure a Top Secret if needed

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with communications or RF systems
  • Experience automating architectural development tasking leveraging AI/ML
  • Experience supporting test and integration activities
  • Master's degree in electrical engineering specializing in RF Communications
  • Master's degree in systems engineering
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture using UAF
  • Experience with Software Architecture and Data Modeling using UML

Clearance:

  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret/ SCI
