Job description

Infotech® is seeking a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer or Infrastructure Architect that is passionate about creating and implementing solutions that improve the continuous deployment of web applications and services that build our nation’s roads and infrastructure. If you are driving on a highway in North America, there is a good chance that Infotech software was used to build it. 88% of state transportation agencies in the U.S. use Infotech-developed software to manage their road construction projects. How’s that for impact?!

Who we are looking for:

As a Sr. Infrastructure Engineer / Infrastructure Architect you will support the automation and monitoring of all steps of software construction from integration, testing, and releasing to deployment and infrastructure management. Through administering cloud based platforms, the Sr. Infrastructure Engineer/Architect serves as the liaison between engineers, IT, and external cloud providers for deployment, operational efficiency, security, and business continuity. You must have expert-level experience working with Terraform and building Terraform modules.

What it’s like to be an engineer on our Infrastructure & Site Reliability team

Our vision: We engineer intuitive, high-impact software designed to eliminate complexity and supercharge efficiency on the job site. We don't just build tools; we embed ourselves in the real-world challenges our customers face to pioneer elegant, intelligent solutions. Grounded in continuous discovery and driven by relentless iteration, we don’t just adapt to the future of the industry—we actively build it, striving to deliver more value tomorrow than we do today.

Our culture: We may be biased but we have some of the most talented and unique people on our team. We are:

  • Curious and innovative; every opinion is valued and all options are explored.
  • Creative and lively; what is work without a little bit of fun?
  • Informal and relaxed while also being ambitious and technically excellent.
  • Customer centric and solution oriented.
  • Collaborative; we are thorough in our projects and are here for each other.
  • Empowering and resourceful.
  • Highly energized, communicative, and supportive. We are a team.

What will you do in this role?

  • Collaborate with technical leads to design and execute a strategic architectural vision for interdependent products and services, ensuring high availability and scalability on AWS.
  • Translate product engineering requirements into robust, automated application and system configurations while bridging the gap between development and operations.
  • Write scripts and utilize infrastructure tools and AWS services to automate continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and infrastructure provisioning.
  • Perform after-hours system maintenance and on-call troubleshooting when needed, responding to system alerts in a timely manner.
  • Develop, deploy, and maintain development, test, and production environments that maximize resource efficiency and ensure consistency across all commercial products.
  • Install and configure networks and Linux-based computer systems, enforcing a high level of security across all accounts, user permissions, and services.
  • Run necessary system backups and maintenance while regularly implementing critical updates and security patches across multiple systems.
  • Monitor Infotech's cloud infrastructure for vulnerabilities and intrusion detection, actively defending against potential threats.
  • Serve as a core technical driver for the team, contributing clean implementation code, championing technology adoption, and providing mentorship to engineering teams.

The technical chops needed for this role

We are currently looking for engineers familiar with using AWS, Containerization, Terraform and Linux, but we know that quality hires can learn new technology quickly when needed, so don’t be deterred if you’re not an expert in every single item listed below!
