Job description

Senior MuleSoft Developer / Integration Lead

Location: Remote

Overview

Boelter is modernizing its B2B commerce platform onto a composable architecture, with MuleSoft Anypoint as the integration backbone connecting SAP S/4HANA (ERP), SAP Commerce Cloud (Hybris/CCv2), Akeneo (PIM), and HubSpot (CRM), plus EDI flows migrating off legacy middleware.

We're looking for a senior integration engineer to stand up the MuleSoft platform from the ground up and lead the migration of existing integrations onto it. This is a foundational hire: you'll own the initial Anypoint environment setup, build the first wave of production integrations, and establish the patterns, governance, and canonical data model the rest of the team builds on. You will also mentor junior developers, so the ability to teach and set standards matters as much as the ability to build.

Responsibilities
  • Stand up Anypoint Platform from scratch: business groups, dev/test/prod environments, CloudHub 2.0 runtime, API Manager policies, Exchange for asset reuse, Anypoint Monitoring, and secrets management.
  • Design and build API-led integrations (system / process / experience layers) across S/4HANA, SAP Commerce, Akeneo, and HubSpot.
  • Migrate existing integration workloads off legacy middleware onto MuleSoft, including EDI flows and high-volume nightly catalog batch processing.
  • Define and enforce the canonical data model and schema governance (Anypoint Exchange, CI-driven schema propagation), in partnership with Enterprise Architecture.
  • Establish CI/CD for MuleSoft applications, reusable connector/framework patterns, error handling, and observability standards.
  • Own non-functional concerns: throughput and sizing for high-volume batch, resilience, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Mentor junior developers; conduct code reviews and pairing, and document patterns for the team.
  • Collaborate with the ERP/SAP team, other internal platform teams, and integration vendors on connectivity, sizing, and delivery.
Required qualifications
  • 5+ years of integration engineering experience, with 3+ years hands-on MuleSoft Anypoint in production.
  • Demonstrated experience standing up Anypoint greenfield (not just building flows in an existing environment) — environments, runtime plane, API Manager, CI/CD.
  • Strong DataWeave fluency and deep API-led connectivity / RAML / API design experience.
  • Hands-on SAP integration experience (S/4HANA and/or SAP Commerce), including relevant connectors and integration patterns.
  • EDI experience (partner onboarding, mapping, common transaction sets).
  • Experience with high-volume batch integration and the sizing/throughput considerations that come with it.
  • Runtime deployment experience on CloudHub 2.0.
  • Proven ability to mentor and set standards for a team.
  • MuleSoft certification (MCD Level 1 minimum; MCD Level 2 or MuleSoft Certified Integration Architect strongly preferred).
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with canonical data modeling and schema governance across multiple systems of record.
  • Familiarity with PIM and CRM integration patterns.
  • Exposure to MDM concepts (golden-record management across ERP, CRM, and commerce).
  • B2B distribution or foodservice domain experience.
  • AWS familiarity (networking, VPC connectivity) given the surrounding cloud footprint.
