Meet the Team

Splunk, a Cisco company, helps healthcare organizations turn fragmented technology and operational data into real-time insight that protects patient care, strengthens cyber resilience, prevents disruption, and improves financial performance.

Your Impact

The Healthcare Industry Solutions Engineer leads targeted, business-outcome healthcare plays across provider, payer, and life sciences. You accelerate GTM by developing repeatable use cases and the technical assets - demos, architectures, talk tracks, and POV kits - that Solution Engineering can leverage on strategic deals. You partner with account teams to connect Splunk and Cisco capabilities to operational and security outcomes.

This is a high-visibility, individual-contributor role reporting into the Industry Solutions Engineering organization, working closely with core Solutions Engineering, industry go-to-market leadership, and product teams.

  • Solution Domain Expert: Serve as the lead authority on healthcare to drive tangible customer use cases covering security, privacy, compliance, operational resiliency, and care continuity.

  • Drive Growth: Partner with Regional Sales Managers, AMER Solutions Engineers and Solution Architects on IDN, payer, and life sciences deals to provide deep domain and technical credibility in customer-facing meetings, workshops, and executive briefings.

  • Business Outcome Solutioning: Translate CISO, CIO, CMO, COO, and CFO priorities into success criteria, POV deliver, and executive summaries.

  • GTM Acceleration: Collaborate with Healthcare Industry Advisor on driving Splunk's vision and value proposition in the marketplace

  • Scale & Standardize GTM Assets: Build and maintain a Standard Outcome based blueprint to develop a Solutions Engineer Kit containing (discovery guide, Healthcare Use case, demo script, executive conversation guide, reference architecture, data source mapping, competitive battle cards, etc)

  • Solution Evangelization: Build healthcare bespoke demos assets across security, privacy & compliance and observability and care continuity

  • Product Influence: Act as the voice of healthcare vertical and provide feedback to product management, and influence product roadmap based on customer and industry trends.

  • Coaching & Enablement: Coach AMER Solutions Engineers on HIPAA-conscious architecture, buyer mapping, and business-case selling.

  • Drive Market Place Focus: Represent Splunk at Healthcare-focused industry events and user groups

  • Strategic Leadership: Engage specialists, Industry Advisors, Solution Architects, and partners to land credible, compliant stories.

  • Foster Team Success: Mentor core account Solutions Engineers on Healthcare domain knowledge to scale industry expertise across the broader Solutions Engineering organization.

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years in solutions engineering, technical consulting, or pre-sales - ideally into provider, payer, or life sciences.

  • Architectural experience

  • Executive presence and technical credibility with healthcare technology and business leaders, including CIOs, CISOs, CTOs, infrastructure and application leaders, digital and IT operations leaders, and other executives responsible for critical healthcare services.

  • Outcome-based selling: economic buyer, success criteria, POV discipline, and executive storytelling.

  • Force-multiplier mindset with AMER Solution Engineers.

  • Willingness to travel 50% to support customer engagement and industry events.

  • Track record of rolling out a Go-To-Market for Healthcare

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with provider clinical systems: Epic or Oracle Health (audit, Break-the-Glass, Bridges/interfaces) and Citrix as the EHR access layer.

  • Healthcare interoperability: HL7 v2 (ADT, ORM, ORU, DFT), FHIR, and interface engines (Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, Corepoint, Bridges).

  • Healthcare interoperability, integration and data exchange, including experience with standards and technologies such as HL7 v2, FHIR, X12, APIs, interface engines and health information exchange.

  • Healthcare applications and ancillary systems, including EHR, imaging, laboratory, pharmacy and other critical technology environments; familiarity with technologies such as PACS/VNA, modalities and DICOM.

  • Payer, payvider and healthcare business technology: Experience with member-facing and workforce applications, claims and revenue cycle workflows, eligibility and enrollment, healthcare data exchange, identity, digital services, and third party dependencies such as clearinghouses, PBMs and other contracted services.

  • Cyber and operational risk: Understanding of identity, access, privacy, third party risk, medical and connected device visibility, network context and security telemetry across healthcare technology environments.

What Success Looks Like

Success in this role is measured by healthcare revenue impact, repeatable vertical selling, and bench uplift. In the first two to four quarters, strong performance looks like:

  • A small set of targeted, business-outcome healthcare plays are live (security, compliance, operations, care continuity) with named buyers, success metrics, and data paths.

  • GTM is faster because geo solution engineers and regional sales managers can run plays using use cases, demos, architectures, talk tracks, and POV kits you built - overlay is not required on every call.

  • Strategic provider, payer, and life sciences opportunities move on outcomes: executive meetings, qualified discovery, and POVs that convert.
