POSITION SPECIFICS

The Susan Hirt Hagen Center for Community Outreach, Research, and Evaluation (CORE) at Penn State Behrend is seeking a Community Outreach Coordinator to support its mission of strengthening individuals and communities through evidence-based programming and meaningful partnerships. A central focus of this role is the development of Penn State Behrend students, equipping them with the skills, training, and support needed to serve as effective mentors and leaders in the community. Through CORE's Community Outreach initiatives, including The Mentor Project, college students are prepared to engage with K-12 youth in ways that foster growth, connection, and long-term impact.

The Community Outreach Coordinator will lead the recruitment, training, supervision, and ongoing development of college student mentors and interns, while also managing relationships with school and community partners. This role includes coordinating and recruiting mentoring sites, facilitating trainings and workshops, and ensuring strong communication across all stakeholders. Additional responsibilities include supporting curriculum development, assisting with grant writing, and contributing to data collection and evaluation efforts to strengthen programming. The ideal candidate is a team player, passionate about student development, skilled in training and mentorship, and able to build collaborative partnerships while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
