Internship Remote Rf Engineer information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Internship Remote RF Engineer, and why are they important?

To excel as an Internship Remote RF Engineer, you need a solid understanding of radio frequency (RF) principles, basic circuit design, and a relevant engineering degree or coursework in electrical or telecommunications engineering. Familiarity with RF simulation tools like CST, HFSS, or ADS, as well as experience with measurement equipment such as spectrum analyzers and network analyzers, is often required. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help interns work well in remote teams and contribute to technical discussions. These competencies are crucial for ensuring accurate RF system design, troubleshooting, and successful collaboration in a virtual work environment.

What is a remote RF engineer internship?

A remote RF (Radio Frequency) engineer internship is a training position where interns work from a remote location to assist in designing, analyzing, and testing wireless communication systems and devices. Interns may work on tasks such as signal propagation analysis, antenna design, and troubleshooting RF circuits, all while collaborating with teams virtually. These internships provide practical experience with industry-standard software tools and exposure to telecommunication technologies, preparing students for a career in RF engineering.

What is the difference between Internship Remote Rf Engineer vs Rf Engineer?

AspectInternship Remote Rf EngineerRf Engineer
CredentialsTypically pursuing or recently completed relevant degreeBachelor's or Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field, with experience
Work EnvironmentRemote, internship setting, limited responsibilitiesOn-site or hybrid, full responsibilities in RF design and testing
Employer UsageInternship programs in telecom and electronics companiesFull-time roles in telecom, wireless, and electronics industries

The main difference is that an Internship Remote Rf Engineer is a temporary, entry-level position aimed at gaining experience, often remote, while an Rf Engineer is a full-time professional responsible for RF system design, testing, and optimization in a more permanent capacity.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect as a remote RF Engineer intern?

As a remote RF Engineer intern, you will typically work on tasks such as assisting with the design, simulation, and testing of radio frequency circuits and systems. You may be involved in analyzing signal performance, troubleshooting issues, and supporting documentation for ongoing projects. Collaboration with senior engineers and cross-functional teams is common, often through virtual meetings and shared platforms. This exposure provides valuable hands-on experience and insights into the workflow of RF engineering in a professional setting.

Ourโ€ฏcutting-edge, software-defined technology equips satellites with advanced storage, processing, and connectivity capabilities - powering smart, efficient, and fully adaptable missions across communications, 5G NTN, earth observation, and space-based data centers.โ€ฏย

As we scale our U.S. presence,โ€ฏweโ€™reโ€ฏdeepening our work with both commercial operators and U.S. government partners who are driving the next generation of space innovation. From mission-critical national security applications to high-growth commercial constellations, our proven computing platforms deliver the performance, reliability, and flexibility needed to unlock new capability in orbit. Selected by the worldโ€™s leading satellite operators,โ€ฏRamon.Spaceโ€ฏis defining howโ€ฏthe industryโ€ฏbuilds, deploys, and evolves digital missions in space.โ€ฏย

We are a global team of 100+ employees across the US, United Kingdom, and Israel. If you are looking to make an impact, come and join our team.โ€ฏย

Ramon.Space is seeking a highly skilled Senior Analog & Power Engineer with extensive experience in analog circuit design and power electronics for space applications. This role focuses on designing robust, high-efficiency power delivery and analog front-end solutions for advanced spaceborne computing systems. If you are great at what you do, enjoy working in a startup-like environment, and are passionate about developing reliable, high-performance electronics for space, we want to hear from you.ย

What you will be doingย

  • Lead the design and development of analog and power subsystems across all product lifecycle stages: from requirements definition through design, bring-up, qualification, and release.ย
  • Architect and design power distribution networks, including DC-DC converters, point-of-load regulators, sequencing, and protection circuits for space applications.ย
  • Perform detailed analog and power analysis, including stability, efficiency, thermal performance, worst-case circuit analysis, and derating.ย
  • Drive component selection and validation for high-reliability and radiation-tolerant environments.ย
  • Define and validate power integrity and noise performance, ensuring compliance with system-level requirements.ย
  • Develop test plans and execute hands-on bring-up, validation, and debugging of analog and power hardware.ย
  • Collaborate closely with digital, RF, mechanical, and system engineers to ensure robust cross-domain integration.ย
  • Support environmental and qualification testing (thermal vacuum, vibration, radiation) and correlate results with design expectations.ย
  • Present technical content in design reviews and contribute to peer design evaluations.ย

Requirementsย

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.ย
  • 7+ years of experience in analog and power electronics design, preferably in space or high-reliability applications.ย
  • Strong expertise in power supply design (GaN Technology for Power, DC-DC converters, LDOs, power distribution, sequencing, and protection circuits).ย
  • Solid background in analog circuit design for command and telemetry as well as signal conditioning, filtering, sensing, and control loops.ย
  • Experience performing worst-case circuit analysis, stability analysis, and thermal considerations.ย
  • Familiarity with power integrity, noise analysis, and EMI/EMC mitigation techniques.ย
  • Experience designing for high-reliability or space environments, including derating and component selection.ย
  • Proficiency with schematic and PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer).ย
  • Hands-on lab experience (oscilloscopes, power analyzers, network analyzers, debugging complex boards).ย
  • Experience supporting hardware bring-up, validation, and environmental testing.ย
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.ย
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.ย

Advantagesย

  • Experience with radiation-tolerant or radiation-hardened power design techniquesย
  • Familiarity with space industry standards (NASA, MIL-STD, ECSS, IPC)ย
  • Knowledge of FPGA, digital, or mixed-signal system integration considerationsย
  • Familiarity with modeling/simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, SIMPLIS, MATLAB)ย
  • Experience with EMI/EMC compliance and mitigation strategiesย
  • Background in high-efficiency or compact power design (e.g., density optimization, magnetics design)ย

Benefitsย

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.ย
  • Benefits at Ramon.Space include medical, dental, vision, PTO, holidays, FSAs, 401(k) match, short term and long-term disability, and parental leave.ย
  • Flexible hybrid working model with opportunities for remote work. The office is located in the Denver Tech Center.ย
