PURPOSE
Gain industry and organizational knowledge through daily business interactions and project assignments while supporting business process improvement initiatives within Installed Services. Work is performed under direct supervision.
This internship provides hands-on experience analyzing business operations, evaluating service and warranty processes, and supporting process standardization efforts across the organization. The intern will collaborate with field operations, business leaders, and cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for operational improvement and help develop scalable solutions that enhance customer experience and business performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with various projects in support of the department.
  • Gather, organize, and analyze data to support operational reviews, process improvement initiatives, and special projects.
  • Conduct interviews and collaborate with field leaders, technicians, and business partners to understand current business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Document and analyze current-state workflows, procedures, and system interactions.
  • Assist with the development of process maps, workflow documentation, presentations, and project recommendations.
  • Support data analysis and reporting activities using Excel, Power BI, and other business tools.
  • Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and brainstorming sessions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables.
  • Present findings, recommendations, and project updates to department leadership when appropriate.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
  • Must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree.
  • Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Preferred junior or senior standing; other class levels will be considered.
  • Preferred majors include Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related disciplines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
  • Strong Excel and Power BI skills, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard development.
  • Comfort interviewing and collaborating with field leaders and technicians to gather information and understand operational processes.
  • Interest in Continuous Improvement and Lean principles with a passion for improving business performance.
  • Ability to create process maps and workflow documentation using tools such as Visio, Miro, or similar software.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly communicate insights and recommendations.
  • Curiosity about construction operations and a desire to learn how field execution impacts customer experience, service quality, and business outcomes.
