What You'll Do
As a key member of our Platform Engineering team, you will design, automate, and operate mission-critical infrastructure supporting enterprise-scale applications and services using the latest state-of-the art enterprise technologies. Join our team to help steward our on-prem Cloud deployed on High-Performance Compute infrastructure.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Build, administer, and optimize enterprise OpenShift Kubernetes environments deployed to our High-Performance Compute infrastructure:
    • OpenShift Console
    • OpenShift Command Line (oc)
    • Advanced Cluster Manager (ACM)
    • Infrastructure automation and orchestration tools
  • Manage and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments at scale (Kernal Virtual Machine hosts and Virtual Machines)
  • Develop automation and Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Ansible, shell scripting, and modern development practices
  • Implement enterprise-grade security, encryption, backup, and data protection solutions
  • Configure, administer, and optimize GPFS (IBM Spectrum Scale) distributed storage environments
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, performance, storage, networking, and platform issues
  • Partner with software engineers, architects, security teams, and network engineers to deliver highly available and scalable solutions
  • Drive operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and continuous platform improvement
  • Contribute to architecture decisions supporting the next generation of healthcare technology platforms
  • Familiarity with supporting AI workloads on Linux and Kubernetes platforms
  • Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to enhance productivity and innovation by streamlining workflows and automating repetitive tasks
  • Evaluate emerging trends to drive continuous improvement and strategic innovation

Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of Linux systems administration experience
  • 5+ years of Kubernetes administration experience in enterprise environments
  • Solid experience administering OpenShift Kubernetes platforms
  • Solid experience automating infrastructure deployment, configuration, and operational processes using Ansible, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Experience with networking concepts including bonding, VLANs, and macvtap
  • Experience with KVM virtualization technology
  • Experience with Kubernetes container technologies and image creation processes
  • Experience implementing and supporting enterprise monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, AlertManager, and Thanos
  • Experience deploying and administering OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt) to support both containerized and virtual machine workloads
  • Experience administering Red Hat Identity Manager (IdM), including LDAP, Kerberos, SSSD, certificate management, and enterprise authentication services
  • Experience with cross-datacenter, high availability failover, and load balancing (F5 & haproxy) between multiple datacenters and K8s clusters
  • Demonstrated security-first mindset with expertise in platform hardening, identity and access management, vulnerability remediation, encryption, and regulatory compliance
  • Deep expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux with ability to use automation for operating system deployment and patching methodologies
  • Solid understanding of:
    • SELinux
    • Linux firewall management
    • Package management and dependency resolution
    • Open-source software ecosystems
  • Expertise with Linux storage and storage encryption technologies including:
    • LVM
    • dm-crypt
    • LUKS2
  • Proficiency with Ansible and shell scripting

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Red Hat certifications or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience operating large-scale OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms
  • Experience designing or supporting high availability and disaster recovery environments
  • Experience with at least one modern programming language such as Python, Go, Java, Rust, or C
  • Experience working with modern CI/CD and DevOps practices
  • Experience with IBM LinuxONE or IBM Z platforms, including:
    • Linux on s390x architecture
    • LinuxONE hardware environments
    • Logical Partitions (LPARs)
    • OSA, FCP, RoCE, and Crypto Express adapters
    • Hardware Management Consoles (HMCs) in Dynamic Partition Manager (DPM) mode
    • Brocade SAN technologies and zoning
    • Understanding of CHPIDs and PCHIDs

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $134,600 - $230,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
