Financial Analyst, Capital Markets - JLL

What this job involves:

As a Financial Analyst on the JLL Edmonton Capital Markets team, you will play an essential role in supporting a market-leading real estate team that works with some of Canada's largest property owners and investors. This position focuses on financial analysis and underwriting of complex real estate assets, due diligence support, and the preparation of best-in-class marketing materials and presentations. You will work directly with our fast-paced Edmonton Capital Markets team, supporting our Senior Analyst and experienced brokerage professionals who have successfully closed over $3 billion in high-profile real estate transactions across Alberta. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your expertise in commercial real estate finance while contributing to impactful deals.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Organize and oversee the due diligence and closing process for complex real estate transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

  • Collaborate with brokers to prepare high-quality client deliverables and influential presentations that drive successful outcomes.

  • Develop sophisticated Excel-based financial models to deliver accurate insights, forecasts, and investment recommendations.

  • Create ARGUS DCF valuation models, cash flow projections, and sensitivity analyses to support complex financial evaluations.

  • Gather and evaluate economic, demographic, and real estate market data to provide critical inputs for project-specific deliverables.

  • Support the team in transaction execution, from initial underwriting through to closing.

  • Maintain organized documentation and data management systems to ensure seamless workflow.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced financial modeling and data analysis.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for creating professional presentations.

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial and market data.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ARGUS Enterprise or ARGUS Developer software.

  • Previous experience or internship in commercial real estate, capital markets, or financial analysis.

  • Knowledge of Canadian real estate markets, particularly in Alberta.

  • Understanding of real estate investment fundamentals, including valuation methods and cash flow analysis.

  • Canadian advanced drone operation license.
