This is a hybrid position based in the Chicago office. 
Position Summary:

The National Association of REALTORS (NAR) seeks a detail-oriented, motivated Financial Analyst to join a high-impact FP&A team reporting to the VP of Financial Planning & Analysis. This role sits at the intersection of financial strategy and operational execution, supporting the translation of complex data into the insights that drive NAR's planning, investment, and leadership decisions. 

You will work closely with senior finance team members and cross-functional partners across the organization, contributing to the budgeting and forecasting cycle, supporting the buildout of NAR's NetSuite Planning & Budgeting platform, and helping deliver financial clarity. The ideal candidate brings analytical curiosity, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow within a large, mission-driven organization. 

We are looking for someone eager to take ownership of meaningful analytical work and who is excited by the opportunity to help shape how NAR understands and manages its financial performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Forecasting

  • Support the development of annual budgets and long-range forecasts, coordinating with department heads to gather inputs and ensure alignment with NAR's strategic plan. 

  • Assist in maintaining the annual plan and forecasting calendar, helping drive accountability across the organization for timely, accurate submissions. 

  • Help identify risks and opportunities within the financial plan and contribute recommendations to senior finance leadership. 

Management Reporting and Executive Communication

  • Support the preparation of monthly management reporting packages for senior leadership, presenting financial performance with clarity and context. 

  • Analyze financial performance against budget, forecast, and prior year - helping surface the story behind the numbers and flagging areas that may require attention. 

  • Identify trends and variances and translate data into actionable insights that support executive decision-making. 

  • Communicate financial findings clearly and confidently to both financial and non-financial audiences. 

Systems and Process Improvements
  • Contribute to the buildout of NAR's NetSuite Planning & Budgeting platform, developing proficiency as an internal resource and supporting user adoption. 

  • Assist in creating user training materials, documentation, and change management support to build organization-wide proficiency. 

  • Support ongoing improvements to budgeting and forecasting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

Cross-Functional Partnership
  • Partner with key departments to provide financial modeling support and ongoing performance insights. 

  • Build collaborative relationships across the organization, helping foster a culture of financial accountability and data-driven decision-making. 

  • Work closely with Accounting, Operations, and Technology teams to support data integrity and reporting consistency across systems. 


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required. 

  • 2+ years of experience in FP&A, Corporate Finance, or a related analytical role; relevant internship experience will be considered in lieu of full-time experience for strong candidates. 

  • Strong financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel; experience building models that inform business decisions. 

  • Ability to communicate financial analysis and recommendations clearly and confidently to stakeholders at various levels. 

  • Experience with NetSuite Planning & Budgeting a plus. 

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau; ability to present data in clean, compelling visuals. 

  • Collaborative and relationship-oriented, with the ability to work effectively across teams. 

  • Intellectually curious and proactively minded - someone who asks the right questions and brings a point of view to the work. 

  • Highly organized and self-directed, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver quality work in a fast-paced environment. 
     

Compensation:$65,000-$85,000 depending on office location

NAR provides comprehensive benefits including health/dental/vision insurance.
NAR is on a hybrid schedule and in the office 3 days a week.
