RWE is used in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries to evaluate the effectiveness, safety, and value of medical treatments outside controlled clinical trials. Interns may support research studies, help interpret data, and contribute to reports that inform decision-making for healthcare providers and regulators. This type of internship is ideal for those interested in data analysis, public health, and evidence-based medicine.

What types of projects do interns typically work on in a real world evidence (RWE) internship?

Common responsibilities include supporting data cleaning, conducting literature reviews, assisting with statistical analyses, and preparing reports or presentations for internal teams. You will often collaborate with cross-functional teams including epidemiologists, data scientists, and medical affairs professionals, which provides excellent exposure to various aspects of the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
