RTI Health Solutions partners with pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and other healthcare industry clients to generate evidence that informs healthcare decision-making around the world. As a Senior Research Statistician, you will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside health economists, statisticians, epidemiologists, and systematic literature review specialists to conduct innovative analyses that evaluate the clinical, humanistic, and economic value of healthcare interventions.

What You'll Do
We are currently seeking a talented Senior Research Statistician to join our growing Evidence Synthesis and Statistics team. Key responsibilities include:
 

Scientific Research and Statistical Analysis

  • Independently develop statistical analysis plans, create analysis datasets, perform complex statistical analyses, interpret findings, and prepare technical reports across a broad range of health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) projects.
  • Lead and conduct statistical analyses for the purposes of health technology assessment, including, but not limited to:
    • Indirect treatment comparisons including network meta-analyses (NMA), matching-adjusted indirect comparisons (MAICs), simulated treatment comparisons (STCs), etc.
    • Survival analyses
    • Utility analyses
    • Real-world evidence (RWE) analyses for use in health economic and early disease modeling
    • Bayesian and other advanced statistical methodologies
  • Develop, validate, document, and maintain statistical programming code and analytical tools using R, STATA, and/or other statistical packages.
  • Provide statistical expertise and methodological guidance to multidisciplinary project teams, recommending appropriate analytical approaches to address client questions.
  • Stay current with emerging statistical methodologies and contribute to the development and application of innovative analytical techniques across client projects.

Project Delivery

  • Independently manage statistical workstreams across multiple client engagements, ensuring delivery of high-quality analyses on time, within budget, and to scientific standards.
  • Serve as the statistical lead on assigned projects, coordinating analytical activities and collaborating with health economists, systematic literature review specialists, and project managers.
  • Identify project risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and communicate progress and technical issues proactively to project leadership and clients.
  • Mentor junior statisticians by providing technical guidance, code review, and support for professional development.

Scientific Communication & Business Development

  • Prepare high-quality statistical reports, study documentation, manuscripts, abstracts, posters, conference presentations, and client-facing deliverables.
  • Present statistical methods and findings to internal teams, clients, and external scientific audiences.
  • Contribute to business development activities by supporting proposal development, preparing statistical sections of proposals, developing analytical approaches, estimating level of effort, and participating in client discussions where appropriate.
  • Proactively build client relationships as well as a portfolio of active client-based work.
  • Scope and develop proposals based on evaluation of client requirements.
  • Partner with senior scientific staff to develop innovative statistical methodologies and technical solutions that differentiate RTI Health Solutions in competitive proposals.
  • Support capability presentations and thought leadership initiatives that strengthen RTI's scientific reputation.

Team Leadership & Professional Development

  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment that encourages continuous learning and methodological advancement.
  • Mentor junior team members on statistical methodology, programming practices, and scientific communication.
  • Contribute to internal initiatives focused on process improvement, reusable analytical tools, and methodological innovation.
  • Maintain expertise in advanced statistical programming using R, WinBUGS/OpenBUGS/JAGS, SAS, STATA, and emerging analytical technologies.

What You'll Need
  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years, Master's degree with 3+ years, or PhD with relevant experience in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience independently designing and executing statistical analyses in healthcare research, clinical research, HEOR, epidemiology, or related consulting environments.
  • Advanced programming proficiency in R is required; experience with STATA, SAS, or Bayesian software is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to client-facing scientific deliverables and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret scientific literature and communicate complex statistical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
