Agriculture Teacher, 0.8 FTE
 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach a combination of manufacturing, STEM, engineering, and/or agriculture-based courses aligned to student interest and district programming needs
  • Support and advance the district's academy model and Production Pathway programming through innovative and career-connected instruction
  • Develop engaging, hands-on learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to real-world manufacturing, business, agricultural, and STEM applications
  • Utilize project-based learning strategies to foster collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and innovation
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local manufacturing, business, agricultural, and community organizations to expand authentic student learning opportunities
  • Coordinate and incorporate industry experiences such as guest speakers, mentorships, work-based learning, internships, field experiences, and collaborative projects
  • Collaborate with academy and pathway staff to create interdisciplinary and cross-curricular learning opportunities connected to career pathways
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and effective laboratory/shop learning environment
  • Integrate industry-relevant tools, technology, equipment, and practices into instruction
  • Support students in developing employability skills, leadership skills, technical competencies, and career readiness
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Build positive relationships with students, staff, families, and community partners
  • Partner with local businesses, industry professionals, and postsecondary institutions to strengthen career-connected learning experiences
  • Supervise and maintain equipment, tools, materials, and inventory associated with manufacturing and STEM coursework
  • Participate in curriculum development and continuous program improvement
  • Incorporate Minnesota state standards and career and technical education competencies into instruction
  • Maintain accurate student records, grades, and communication with families
  • Participate in district professional development, staff meetings, collaborative teams, and academy-related planning
  • Support student organizations, leadership opportunities, career exploration experiences, and pathway-related events as appropriate

Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license in one or more of the following areas:
    • Agricultural Education
    • Science
    • Technology Education
    • Manufacturing/Industrial Technology
    • Engineering or related field
  • Ability to teach STEM and agriculture-related coursework preferred
  • Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, agricultural systems, engineering concepts, or applied sciences preferred
  • Commitment to hands-on, experiential, and career-connected learning
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, businesses, and community partners
  • Willingness to obtain OFP or CCDP license as necessary
