ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the world’s greatest crises in partnership with the church. POSITION SUMMARY:
 
World Relief is seeking a Senior Caseworker to provide day-to-day program support and direct service delivery within the Refugee Health Promotion Program (RHPP). This role combines program coordination responsibilities with direct case management and plays a critical part in ensuring program quality, client outcomes, and staff development.      
 
This position reports to the Senior Resettlement Manager and works closely with them to support the achievement of RHPP objectives while maintaining high standards of trauma-informed, client-centered case management. In addition to holding an individual caseload, the Senior Caseworker offers guidance and technical support to RHPP caseworkers and serves as a field instructor to Social Work Interns by providing mentorship, learning support, and required field education in alignment with academic and program requirements.  
 
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Program Management and Leadership
  • Guide the implementation of the RHPP program under the direction of the Senior Resettlement Manager.  
  • Coach, mentor, and provide day‑to‑day support to a team of RHPP Caseworkers; serve as a primary resource for questions, problem‑solving, and case consultation, escalating to management as appropriate.  
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in RHPP service delivery, program requirements, and best practices.  
  • Provide daily oversight of active caseloads, maintaining close communication with RHPP staff regarding complex or high‑needs cases and consulting with the manager as needed.  
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and compliant casefile documentation in alignment with contractual, funder, and organizational requirements.  
  • Assist with preparation for audits, monitoring activities, and all in‑person monitoring visits.  
  • Lead weekly RHPP team meetings as guided by the Senior Resettlement Manager.   Provide individualized 1‑on‑1 support, coaching, and corrective guidance to RHPP staff as needed.  
  • Cascade information, policy updates, and program guidance from management to the RHPP team.  
  • Attend community and stakeholder meetings and ensure the RHPP team remains informed of current services, eligibility updates, and best practices.  
  • Provide field instruction, supervision, and practical guidance to assigned Social Work interns to support learning objectives and quality service delivery.      
Case Management & Direct Services  
  • Conduct comprehensive client assessments to identify needs, strengths, and barriers; collaborate with clients to establish individualized goals.  
  • Develop holistic, client‑centered service plans using SMART goals to support progress toward self‑sufficiency.  
  • Provide high‑quality case management services to assist clients in meeting program benchmarks and achieving individualized goals.  
  • Support clients in navigating complex social service systems, including benefits applications, referrals, and appointment scheduling.  
  • Conduct regular client check‑ins to monitor progress, reassess needs, and adjust action steps as necessary.  
  • Empower clients and sponsors through education, resources, and skill‑building to promote independence and completion of services.  
  • Make internal referrals and coordinate services across programs to ensure holistic support.  
  • Document all participant services and activities thoroughly and in a timely manner in accordance with World Relief Sacramento and program requirements.  
  • Maintain accurate, compliant casefiles and update client information in protected databases (Dynamics, Teams, etc.).  
  • Review and regularly report case progress and challenges to supervision and/or management.      
Compliance, Collaboration & Other Responsibilities  
  • Ensure grant requirements and program deliverables are met through timely, high‑quality service provision.  
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen service delivery and maintain compliance.  
  • Collaborate effectively with World Relief Sacramento staff, departments, and external service providers to support coordinated care.  
  • Conduct community outreach to engage and recruit eligible clients as needed.  
  • Use a personal, insured vehicle to transport clients and program materials throughout the service delivery area as required.  
  • Attend meetings and complete additional duties as assigned by supervisor or manager. 
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW); non‑clinical hours toward California licensure can be provided.  
  • Previous experience supporting low-income populations. 
  • Self- starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively.   
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.   
  • Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.   
  • Local travel is required, including transportation of program participants.
  • Position requires use of a personal, insured vehicle and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check. Must provide proof of current auto insurance and be comfortable driving a large company vehicle when needed.  
  • Proficient in English, both spoken and written.   
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to speak clearly and comfortably on the phone with partners and participants, which include people with limited English abilities and/or the use of interpreters.   
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office applications.   
  • Proven ability to utilize digital communication tools, such as Zoom, TEAMS, and other platforms.   
  • Ability to work as part of a team and support program-specific volunteers and interns     Proven success achieving goals and working effectively with all levels of staff in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
  • Highly self-motivated and comfortable working independently towards case-specific, department, and office-wide goals.
