JOB SUMMARY:  

As a Construction Intern at Sabey Construction Inc, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the dynamic and rapidly evolving field of Data Center construction. This internship is designed to provide exposure to various aspects of construction management, project coordination, and quality control within the Data Center sector. The ideal person for this role will have a strong desire to start a career in the data center/construction industry, be a self-starter and must demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  • Project Support 
  • Assist project managers and site supervisors in the planning, coordination, and execution of critical facilities construction projects. 
  • Contribute to project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and project schedules. 
  • Quality Control 
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements. 
  • Assist in conducting inspections and assessments to identify and address potential issues. 
  • Safety Compliance 
  • Participate in quality assurance processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

  • Communication 
  • Assist in the preparation of progress reports and presentations. 
  • Technology Integration: 
  • Gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies used in critical facilities construction, including Building Information Modeling (BIM) and other digital tools.

  • Work on real-world challenges and problem-solving exercises within the critical facilities construction context. 
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop solutions.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

  • Ability to interface with technology and operate a computer 
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods of time 
  • Ability to interact with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners 
  • Ability to visit and safety navigate through construction sites 
  • Adhere to Company information security policies and standards by safeguarding confidential data, protecting access credentials, completing all required trainings on time, and taking immediate action to report potential security threats or breaches. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program in construction management, real estate development, civil engineering, or a related field. 
  • High School Diploma or GED required 

MINIMUM COMPETENCIES 

  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment, without compromising quality of work 
  • Advanced knowledge of the English language - excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with all levels of Sabey employees and business partners

  • Ability to demonstrate strong problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to maintain a strong focus on attention to detail
