We are currently expanding our Risk Consulting & Analytics team within the Swiss Re Risk Data Solutions division by searching for a dedicated professional to deliver analytics and consulting services across the insurance value chain to our clients. About the role
 

As a main contributor, you will be responsible for executing and supporting delivery on our client consulting offerings. This is a key role within the Americas consulting team with ownership of client delivery and evolving and growing the overall consulting value proposition. Our clients include some of the largest global insurance carriers as well as regional insurers, MGAs, and public sector organizations in the Americas. Being client-centric and commercially minded, you will help drive our collective success.

Your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Contributing to delivery of P&C analytics and risk consulting engagements, creating and leading technical analyses, and interpreting results and communicating them to clients
  • Working collaboratively within multi-disciplined project teams to drive effective delivery
  • Acting as a primary contributor for Property and Casualty analytical projects, using a combination of internal and external data sources to help clients navigate changes
  • Developing, maintaining, and improving pricing models across P&C lines
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders across Swiss Re to develop new capabilities and data assets

About you:

You have strong technical underwriting/pricing analytics and problem-solving skills, business mindset, can-do attitude, and ability to assimilate complex information. You also have a desire to work in a dynamic, high-impact client-facing role.
 

Essentials:

  • 2-3+ years primary Property & Casualty underwriting, predictive modeling, actuarial, or analytics experience
  • Expertise in statistical tools, programming languages, and visualization tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL, MS PowerBI)
  • Comfort with data analysis and manipulation in at least one programming language in the P&C insurance space
  • Excellent knowledge of the primary insurance market for Property and Casualty lines of business, having worked for an insurer, broker, consulting firm or analytics company
  • Ability to interpret complex analysis and turn it into actionable insights through impactful analysis
  • Experience with interacting & communicating with senior management and diverse client stakeholders
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally 

Nice to have:

  • Experience building predictive models in a variety of forms (GLMs, tree-based models, etc.) Experience within the context of pricing models highly preferred. 
  • Consulting background or experience delivering consulting engagements to clients is a strong plus

Our company uses a hybrid work model requiring at least three days in the office each week, with the option to work onsite full-time if preferred.  This position is not eligible for full-time telework, relocation assistance or visa sponsorship.

For Chicago, the estimated base salary range for this position is $94,000 to $156,000.  For New York City, the estimated base salary range for this position is $98,000 to $163,000. The specific salary offered for this or any given role will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to job location, scope of role, qualifications, complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent, experience, education, and employer budget.
