Job description

Position Summary

Delva Tool & Machine is seeking a Manufacturing Software Developer I or II who enjoys solving real-world operational challenges through software, automation, data integration, and emerging AI technologies. You'll work closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Executive Leadership to develop solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making across our manufacturing environment.  

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain internal software applications and business systems.
  • Build tools that support CNC machining, production scheduling, quality management, and operational reporting.
  • Develop integrations between shop floor systems, ERP platforms, quality systems, and business applications.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using technologies such as Python, C#, JavaScript, SQL, and related development frameworks.
  • Troubleshoot software issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and IT teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions.
  • Develop dashboards, reporting tools, and data pipelines that provide actionable business insights.
  • Support cybersecurity, data protection, and compliance requirements within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Participate in AI-enabled development initiatives, automation projects, and future predictive analytics efforts.
What We're Looking ForSoftware Developer I:
  • 1–3 years of software development experience (internships included).
  • Experience with one or more modern programming languages such as Python, C#, JavaScript, or SQL.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
Software Developer II:
  • 3–5 years of professional software development experience.
  • Experience designing and implementing business-critical applications.
  • Background with system integrations, APIs, databases, and enterprise software.
  • Ability to manage projects and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ERP, MES, manufacturing, or industrial software systems.
  • Familiarity with API development and database design.
  • Understanding of data analytics, reporting tools, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Exposure to AI, machine learning, predictive analytics, or automation technologies.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and regulated environments.
  • Experience working within manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industries is highly desirable.
