This is an 11-week, full-time experience that offers a sneak peek how I.T. intersects with insurance. Level up your skills and knowledge by diving into your department of choice. Throughout the program, you'll get a feel for the corporate environment with on-the-job assignments, team projects, exposure to senior leadership & executives, and even a community volunteer day. All of this and more will help you build meaningful relationships throughout the organization.

The Information Technology department is seeking motivated, self-directed individuals to intern on essential teams such as Application Delivery, Customer Experience, Cybersecurity and Information Management. Information technology is crucial in insurance companies for optimizing operations, enhancing customer service, and managing data securely, making it an exciting field for computer science students who want to apply their skills in a dynamic and impactful industry. As a summer intern, you will work directly with experienced professionals to gain hands-on, relevant experience. Please note, this is a hybrid position, therefore, applicants must be within commuting distance of our Charlotte, NC location.
Responsibilities
  • Develop, enhance, and support Data and Analytics solutions
  • Providing production support for the solutions as needed
  • Research new technology capabilities under direction from existing team members
  • Ensure adherence to IT standards and best practices
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly to support business processes and resolve issues
  • Work cross-functionally with peers and leaders to complete an Action Learning Project

Qualifications
Knowledge and Requirements
  • Must be a current college student majoring in Computer Science or a related field to qualify (rising juniors and seniors, preferred).
  • Basic to intermediate experience with object-oriented programming languages such as Python, C#, Java, or similar.
  • Demonstrated interest in Data, Analytics, and AI, through relevant coursework, academic projects, or hands-on experience (e.g., data analytics, machine learning, or AI concepts/tools).
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills, with an interest in applying technology to real-world business challenges.
  • Takes ownership of work, can self-motivate, and executes on delegated tasks.
  • Demonstrates an interest in learning about the insurance industry.
  • College credit can be earned depending on your institution's requirements.

Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma required. Ideal internship candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors, with the ability to perform at a professional level.
