JOB DESCRIPTION

You will have the opportunity to work with one of our various teams within the (Data-as-a-service or DaaS). From Day 1, you will be treated as an equal member of the team and given meaningful assignments to help us deliver improvements to our data platforms across multiple segments such as Core Banking, Business Banking, Insurance, Wealth, or Enterprise Platforms.

Job responsibilities for a junior Data Analyst may vary by area. This may include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Work with business and technology partners to define, develop and document detailed business, data and system requirements.
  • Participate as a member of agile pod team focused on developing new capabilities, including agile ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, product owners, quality engineers and other stakeholders to deliver an end-to-end capability from concept to production-deployment.
  • Have performed data analysis, profiling, clean-up, data wrangling and validation as part of University assignments.
  • Based on data analysis, provide recommendations for data remediation, improvements.
  • Participate in program/ system research, analysis, detailed design and problem resolution.
  • Respond to user enquiries on data platform, in a timely manner.
  • Troubleshoot and determine root cause and resolution for application defects.
  • Apply Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Methodology (PMLC) to complete specific tasks for projects.
  • Continuously enhance knowledge/expertise and keep up-to-date with leading-edge technologies trends/developments.
  • Develop expertise in data platform, infrastructure, data pipeline, analytical tools and design techniques that can contribute to effective solution development and delivery.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, collaboration skills to work in an agile cross-functional team, with different stakeholders.
  • Have owned, delivered a project assignment in University starting from Inception, Initiation, Execution until Implementation. Project outcome reviewed and measured as expected.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant technology programs, such as Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology Management, Computing, etc.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to deliver message and ideas effectively to diverse audiences such as business, development, quality engineers and management stakeholders.
  • A thirst for constantly exploring emerging technology such as Azure, python, Talend, Tableau, Informatica.
  • Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
  • Proficient with Excel, Visio, SQL, some reporting and analytical tools.
  • Understands Data Modeling concepts.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities and work independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Experience with technology project delivery and agile delivery methodology would be an asset.
  • Some prior experience with creating visualization such as Process and Data Flows.
  • Good documentation skill; can produce data mapping between Source and Target Systems. Capture User Stories and Use Cases.
  • Hands-on programming experience would be an asset, which could include familiarity and strength in any of the following: C, C++, C#, Object C, Java, Java Script, Python, NodeJS, SQL, J2EE, Web Services, DB2, MS SQL.
