Job description

The CI Operations & Data Analyst is an entry-level position that supports the Community Impact (CI) Department through data coordination, reporting, systems support, and administrative operations. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in nonprofit data, grants management, and impact measurement. The Analyst works closely with CI leadership and team members to ensure accurate data, consistent reporting, and effective use of technology systems. The Analyst will work most closely with the Director, Community Impact Operations & Alignment, the Sr. Director, Community Impact Grants and Partnerships, and the Sr. Director, Data Capacity Building Initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

Program & Grant Reporting Support

  • Maintain and update a master calendar of grant deadlines based on contracts and Performance Expectation Agreements (PEAs)
  • Support data preparation for CI meetings, Community Impact Grants (CIG), other grants, and board reporting
  • Assist with basic analysis of Community Impact metrics and contribute to monthly and quarterly report-outs.
  • Support bi-annual compilation and review of Community Impact Grant (CIG) data to help summarize partner organization activities and outcomes.
  • Assist in developing side-by-side progress tracking for CIG-funded organizations, based on projected outcomes, using Submittable
  • Help prepare reports, summaries, and presentations for management and leadership.

Data & Systems Support

  • Assist with coordination of the Microsoft Dynamics CRM implementation for the Community Impact Department, including data cleanup, preparation, and testing
  • .Support department-wide efforts to align reporting practices and data definitions across the CI team
  • Help maintain accurate constituent and partner organization data across multiple platforms. 
  • Enter and update grant and solicitation information in Microsoft Dynamics CRM. 
  • Serve as a support user and administrator-in-training for third-party platforms such as Submittable, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas Community Vulnerability Compass (CVC), SurveyMonkey Apply, and others as needed.

Process Improvement & Technology

  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve data collection, reporting, and operational processes.
  • Support exploration and testing of office technology tools that improve efficiency and data quality.
  • Provide general operational and administrative support for Community Impact department activities and grants management.
  • Bachelor’s degree required. 
  • Zero to three years of professional experience; internships or academic projects experience welcomed. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly. 
  • Basic experience working with quantitative and qualitative data. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with other data or reporting tools. 
  • Familiarity with Python, Power BI, and Tableau preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work. 
  • Ability to work independently with guidance, manage multiple tasks, and collaborate effectively within a team.
