Murphy Oil Corporation's Engineering Summer Internship Program offers an exciting opportunity to explore the energy industry, apply your classroom knowledge, and make meaningful contributions through real-world projects during a 12-week summer experience. As an Engineering Summer Intern, you will partner with a dedicated mentor and experienced professionals to contribute to engineering and/or operations activities, develop recommendations for future work, and gain valuable firsthand experience in the energy industry. You will also connect and collaborate with fellow interns and Murphy professionals, expand your industry knowledge, and explore a variety of career paths across the energy sector. Internship opportunities are available within the Reservoir, Production, Facilities, Drilling, Completions, Reliability, Integrity, and Project Engineering teams at Murphy Oil Corporation's corporate office in Houston, Texas. Qualifications/Requirements
  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering.
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university program for the duration of the 2024 internship
  • Minimum twelve (12) continuous weeks' availability for internship
  • The successful candidate for this role must be authorized to work in the United States and must not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future (e.g., F1).

The individual is required to follow all applicable safety precautions. Work is performed almost entirely in a controlled (i.e., inside) environment and does not typically subject the incumbent to any hazardous/extreme elements; some positions may require regularly moving or transporting items weighing up to 25 lbs. around the office for various needs. The successful candidate must be able to complete all essential physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
