Job description

Position Summary
The IT DataBase Analyst 2 (DA2) primary objective is to assess complex data systems, applications metrics and programs to support ad-hoc and standing management or customer requests, creates reports, methodologies, and files for analyzing and presenting data, examines data quality, applications, and functions. Also, produces output and sustains operation. The DA2 is also responsible to research new applications data sources, reports and analytical tools including techniques analysis and procedures, consulting with users to determine system functional specifications The DA2 designs, develops and documents new datasets and contributes to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation, develops awareness of and familiarity with data driven issues and events affecting applications, database, organization, department, and/or customer. The DA2 uses and supports database applications and analytical tools and uses timely and appropriate participation of users/customers in data collection and query systems with little to no supervision. The DA2 analyzes reports to identify incongruence and manages necessary adjustments working directly with the business.
Essential Functions
  • Manage and analyze data received from multiple sources.
  • Prepare and analyze reports related to multiple applications.
  • Generate statistical reports using a variety of database systems related to user experience and applications utilization.
  • Optimize business processes through high performing databases, routines, macros, and structured query languages.
  • Provides accurate and appropriate interpretation of data, applying knowledge to evaluation, analysis
  • Develops appropriate methodologies for collecting, analyzing, and presenting applications data products.
  • Develops useful and insightful information from a variety of data sources.
  • Works with management and/or customers to develop and understand product specifications.
  • Communicates regularly and effectively with team members and management, and communicates results effectively to management and/or customers.
  • Delivers data products in report/presentation format, or verbally, to management and/or customer specifications and timelines.
  • Points out system, application or process problems when noticed and engages the team in problem solving.
  • Facilitates satisfactory communication and resolution of problems.
  • Able to interface well with Firm staff and other non-technical members of Firm.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
  • Analytical - Able to mine and collect data.
  • Problem Solving Skills - gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Interpersonal Skills - focuses on case/task at hand. Maintains confidentiality.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent degree or experience is preferred.
  • Four or more years of experience as DataBase/Data Analyst, preferably working in IT and/or legal fields.
  • Skilled in Excel, including pivoting capabilities and analysis module, and VBA macros.
  • Proficiency in MS SQL, SSMS software required.
  • Proficiency in SSIS, SSRS, PBI software required.
  • Proficient in R, Python or similar software a plus.
  • Proficient in Azure Data Factory, Azure Fabric, and related technologies a plus.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in both individual and team settings.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and to meet changing deadlines and priorities on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Ability to organize, manage, prioritize, and handle numerous projects/tasks, sometimes heavy caseloads. Detailed oriented.
  • Written and verbal communication, including technical writing skills
