Job Description:
As the Hydraulic Sales Representative (HSR) you will sell hydraulic parts and repair services to an assigned group of customers for proactive and reactive maintenance. This will include hydraulic hose assemblies, replacement components, component parts and repairs to cylinders, pumps and hydraulic motors. The business is focused on non-CAT mobile machinery as well as stationary industrial equipment in industries such as pulp & paper processing, metal recycling, lumber mills, manufacturing and many others. You will be responsible for driving growth by way of new account acquisition and existing account development within your assigned territory, acting as an ambassador for our brand and a steward of our reputation in the fluid power industry.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities:
  • 40% - Drive revenue growth by cultivating business relationships within your assigned customer portfolio and through prospecting and new account development. Conduct an agreed-upon number of customer calls/visits each week with a planned sales objective for each call. Maintain customer call activity, opportunity pipeline and call notes in the CRM tool. Promote external and internal customer relations and good will by investigating customer concerns, researching and providing justification material when required, picking up and delivering parts and components, maintaining communication with service coordinators to ensure timely turnaround on repair work, and other related activities.
  • 40% - Perform site audits, inspections and hydraulic hose/component surveys of customer equipment, and prepare service-related proposals as required
  • 20% - Travel to stores in assigned territory to perform training, product knowledge learning sessions and commercial/sales related activities
Education/Experience:
  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
  • Technical training in the fluid power field highly desirable
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • 5+ years of prior sales experience
  • 3+ years of account management experience
  • Excellent analytical, organization, and communication skills.
  • Employee may be required to submit to customer security requirements including but not limited to additional background checks, drug tests, and provide additional identification
  • Must have a valid class C Georgia driver's license and clean driving history
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • CRM experience
  • Hydraulic system/hose fabrication/component repair experience desired
  • Persuasive sales skills
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus - read, write, and speak (preferably Spanish)
Environmental Job Requirements:Environment:
  • Most of your time is spent standing/walking
  • Willing to work in extreme weather conditions and around loud noises

Physical:
  • Will require appropriate Personal Protection Equipment to be worn
  • Able to operate and climb underneath equipment for inspections

Travel:
  • Typically requires travel 20% to 50% of the time (rarely overnight)

The ideal candidate will have prior sales experience in a related field and a well-developed set of customer skills. Mechanical aptitude and experience working with earthmoving and industrial hydraulic equipment are a plus. Most importantly- the successful candidate will have a strong work ethic and 'can-do' attitude, focused on providing high-value solutions to customers and distinguishing us from our competitors. Must be comfortable communicating with stakeholders at all levels, from maintenance managers to business owners.
