HDR is looking for a Structural Coordinator / EIT to become part of our Building Engineering Services (BES) Business Group. This position may be based in any of our offices across Kentucky and Tennessee.
In the role of Structural Coordinator, we'll count on you to:
  • Design buildings for Data Centers which will include: new builds, retrofits and colocations.
  • Design buildings for support of water bearing structures for local municipalities.
  • Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications for structural engineering projects
  • Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standards, techniques, and procedures.
  • Give direction to clerical or technical personnel as needed
  • Assist senior staff on site visits to evaluate field conditions
  • Perform structural observations during construction
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate.
  • Knowledge of construction and structural systems
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar commercial design software systems.
  • Previous design experience (internship or full-time work experience) is a plus
  • Ability to design in steel, concrete, and masonry
  • Knowledge and application of ACI, AISC, ASCE 7, and other industry-relevant design codes and standards
  • Understanding of gravity and lateral analysis of structural systems
  • Candidates hired without their EIT will be titled "Coordinator" and are expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Local candidates preferred
