Principal Structural Design Engineers - East Coast Nuclear Projects | $130K-$170K DOE

United Trades of America is hiring multiple Principal Structural Design Engineers to support major concrete and structural projects across the East Coast, with a focus on nuclear and energy-sector infrastructure. These roles offer the chance to lead complex, safety-critical design efforts for high-impact EPC projects.

If you're a seasoned engineer with deep knowledge of structural codes, concrete design, and DOE/NQA-1 standards, this is your opportunity to lead, mentor, and deliver critical infrastructure that matters.

Position Details

  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $170,000/year (Depending on Experience)

  • Multiple Openings

  • Location: Various East Coast project sites (onshore nuclear/concrete structures)

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of engineers and designers for assigned project scopes

  • Perform and verify advanced structural calculations (steel, concrete, dynamic load)

  • Develop and review technical specifications, design criteria, and drawings

  • Coordinate cross-discipline integration with project management, vendors, and field teams

  • Support procurement and construction phases, including responding to RFIs and reviewing field changes

  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, quality standards, and DOE/NQA-1 requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship (mandatory for project requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering

  • 15+ years of structural design experience (EPC preferred)

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Advanced knowledge of structural design tools such as STAAD, RISA-3D, and Mathcad

  • Strong familiarity with seismic, blast, and dynamic loading criteria

  • Excellent technical writing, communication, and leadership skills

Preferred

  • Experience with DOE, federal, or nuclear facility projects

  • Practical field experience and EPC leadership background

  • Familiarity with ASME NQA-1 standards
