Job description

We are seeking a knowledgeable and passionate Faculty, Industrial Maintenance member to prepare the next generation of skilled maintenance technicians. The successful candidate will provide high-quality instruction through classroom, laboratory, and hands-on learning experiences while helping students develop the technical and professional skills needed for careers in modern manufacturing and industrial maintenance.

This position is ideal for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys mentoring others and is committed to student success.

Compensation: $73,652.80/yr

Essential Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging instruction in Industrial Maintenance courses using classroom, lab, and hands-on training environments.
  • Teach principles of mechanical systems, electrical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), automation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Develop lesson plans, instructional materials, assessments, and lab activities that align with program learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and industry-relevant laboratory environment.
  • Evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback to promote academic success.
  • Maintain accurate student attendance, grades, and required documentation.
  • Incorporate current industry standards, emerging technologies, and best practices into instruction.
  • Build relationships with local industry partners to support internships, advisory committees, and workforce needs.
  • Participate in curriculum development, accreditation activities, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
  • Support student recruitment, retention, and completion initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelors OR Associates in related field and 1000 hours OR 4000 hours of relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of five years of recent industrial maintenance experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of PLCs, motor controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, industrial safety, and preventive maintenance practices.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively teach and mentor students from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field.
  • Previous teaching, training, mentoring, or workforce development experience.
  • Experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience with automation, VFDs, data collection for maintenance, industry 4.0 methodologies or smart manufacturing technologies.
  • Industry certifications related to industrial maintenance, electrical systems, PLC programming, or automation.
