Job description

Unreal Engine Software Developer (Modeling & Simulation) Develop and maintain real-time simulation software using Unreal Engine for aviation training and mission rehearsal systems supporting programs at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Collaborate with the Visual Systems Team to integrate real-time graphics, Image Generators (IG), and out-the-window (OTW) visual environments used in piloted simulation systems. Design and implement high-fidelity 3D environments, aircraft models, terrain databases, and visual effects to support immersive simulation scenarios.

Develop and optimize real-time rendering pipelines, shaders, and performance tuning to ensure stable frame rates and low latency for piloted simulators. Integrate Unreal-based visualization with simulation frameworks, avionics models, and external data interfaces used in training and engineering simulators. Support visual database development and maintenance, including terrain generation, texturing, lighting, and environmental effects for OTW systems.

Participate in system integration, test events, and troubleshooting within laboratory and simulator environments supporting aviation modeling and simulation programs.
