Rate of Pay: $104,866 - $157,334 per year
Duties:
Develop product evaluation and validation test solutions for high performance analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (IC). Design, develop and debug cost effective evaluation test HW/SW solutions for characterization and qualification in a lab environment. Work with design engineers in defining/developing evaluation test methodologies, test plans, and test modes. Design evaluation test schematics and work with lay-out engineers for creation of printed circuit boards (PCB). Design, debug, and continuously improve evaluation test programs to correlate evaluation test solution results to design engineering simulations and production test programs. Engage and support local and offshore application teams to resolve product use case questions and problems after production release. Assist with customer returns and provide technical assistance to the Failure Analysis teams. Participate in New Product Development teams and evaluate new evaluation test systems for future applications. If the need arises, replicate a customer setup to investigate customer returns that require deeper analysis. Compile, analyze, and organize data extracted from tests to communicate to designers for future improvement. Manage, create, and maintain project schedules that align with product introduction and release dates.
Partial telecommute benefit (2 days/week work from home).
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant technical discipline (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Design Evaluation Engineer or related occupation automating various tests with high-speed and high precision lab test equipment including High Speed Oscilloscope, Network Analyzers, Spectrum Analyzers, Vector Network Analyzers, Signal Generators, BERTs, Source Measurement Units, and temperature chambers.
Must also possess the following (quantitative experience requirements not applicable to this section):
  • Demonstrated expertise in characterizing MIPI DPHY and CPHY analog TX/RX behavior, including Low Power / High Speed timing, eyediagram/jitter evaluation, differential/common-point voltage measurements, and impedance/Sparameter checks, using oscilloscopes, highspeed probes, and conformancestyle methods.
  • Demonstrated expertise in RF/SI background for high-speed characterization board design and debug, including VNAbased Sparameter/returnloss measurements, de-embedding, and controlled-impedance/stack-up review, TDR where applicable.
  • Demonstrated expertise in organizing, running, and communicating in Guaranteed by Design Characterization (GBDC) efforts on the bench; running critical tests that Test Engineers cannot run with production setup.
  • Demonstrated expertise in hardware background to troubleshoot and resolve general bench issues and apply fixes as needed, including standard lab skills (ESDsafe handling, soldering/rework), use of common hand tools (e.g., screwdrivers/torque drivers), familiarity with standard metric/imperial fastener sizes, and setup/operation of RF fixtures. (e.g., SMA connections, attenuators, splitters, terminations, bias-tees).
  • Demonstrated expertise in programming in C#, C++, Visual Studio, or Python to automate test hardware for testing integrated circuits efficiently.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using PCB schematic capture and layout tools such as OrCAD or Cadence Allegro for hardware design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook) to perform statistical analysis of integrated circuit test characterization data to guarantee functionality and performance.
  • Demonstrated expertise in utilizing signal processing techniques and analog/digital conversion to guarantee data sheet electrical specifications.
